ROTF Breakaway!

I was so looking forwards to this mold. I love the JSF, can't wait to see in IRL. The paint job, on the other hand.... gah!
Like everyone else, I decided a repaint was needed. I based mine off a Su-37 I built a few years back (Say what you will about Soviet/Russian fighters, they have some damn pretty camo schemes!)
Took Breakaway apart and did Jin's mod to the front fuselage and nose so his head pops up better. Repainted his head. Painted the fuselage, top of the wings and elevators, arms, lower torso, outer thighs, inner lower legs, toes and back of his feet Testors Armour Sand. Undersides of the wings and elevators, outer lower legs, inner thighs and the outsides of the intakes are Camo Gray. Waist, intakes and nose are Engine Gray. Shoulders, the bar that connects the waist to the forward fuselage, Mech Alive parts, fingers and ankles are Steel. Afterburner is Exhaust. Gatling is black, then drybrushed Silver Everything Armour Sand was masked off (whoever at 3M/Scotch came up with the pop-up dispenser was a genius!) and painted the splinters with Rust. Everything was drybrushed Silver, then Flat Black (in the direction of flight, mind you), and Reprolabels silver Autobot sigils finished him off.
