I deicded a few months ago that I wanted to try my hand at a combiner.... I have seen some amzing examples on here, I only hope that I can do them justice. I know that this should fall under the custom or scratchbuild but for now its just a repaint. I've decide that in light of the Superion add-on kit to do a 25th Anniversary edition of Energon Superion Maximus. So here is the first part.....Tread Shot.

that is niiiiiiice i didnt even reconise that mold at first but that repaint is so great

Thank you very much......the nose cone was bitch to do though. It took three coats of primer and three coats of gloss black enamil. I will be doing wind razor next in the same mold and then the other two and universe silverbolt for the torso. I have the arms and superion head done too already. Watch for the next instalment and thanks for looking

yeah its movieish but I was trying to follow along the lines of the 25th anniversary thought process and was attempting an homage to the energon line. I went completely different for the A-10's also. For those I am using thor from the marvel line. This is my first real attempt at anything other than a repaint as well. I just finished doing a red alert see as it seems that henkei is the only way to get one. most canadian retailers have seemingly dropped the universe line in favor of the movie line (too bad). so i want a break from red and white before I do windrazor. thanks again

What exactly do you mean?

It appears that the basic idea of the universe/classics line is to update G1 molds to more modern machines. I felt that wind razor and tread shot both look like a F-22 of an F-35 now seeing as the only way to get an f-22 was the starscream mold that was out as the size doesn't fit with my over all size. so the F-35 euro fighter aka breakaway was the natural choice in order to keep as close to the original figures. Thats why I chose to call the Universe. I feel that I stuck to my original criteria and the basic theme of the Universe/classics line even though as it was pointed out that he looks a little movie-ish. Small compromises i hope that this explained what i was thinking a little better than my last post.....and always thanks for looking
