Hey all its been a while! I recently got some time off from my other projects so I picked up a RotF Prime to repaint, in his classic colors of course .

This was my 4th repaint so far and it took me about 3 weeks, the longest time I've worked on a TF . The piece was mostly airbrushed with paintbrushes for detailing. The figure has 4 shades of silver, 2 red, 2 blue, gold, copper, and a few shades of umber and black for weathering (slightly, just enough to make the pieces stand out). The paint was sealed with modelmaster clear lacquer + future wax.


The gun was made from various TF parts (movie/MP Optimus, reissue Jazz, and some weird lighter I found in my dad's tool box)

As a G1 fan, I love the classic colour scheme you've chosen.

I love the paint job, but in all honesty, the classic color scheme looks hedious. The fine details and overall level of shininess, though, makes this one the best ROTF Optimus Prime's I have seen.

Wow, just WOW. Well, I guess more too. I love it. And the camera angles and closeness give it a sense of epic size, especially the bottom -> up shot of the robot mode, very nice! If only these figures came like that, they'd go flying off the shelves.

That first picture of the completed truck - I actually thought for a second that you'd gone out, bought a real life truck, and had a custom paint job done. Dayum.

I almost passed on checking this post out. Thought...another Prime repaint...This is Awsome! You must have put some serious time into this. I love the G1 tribute, but what I like best is that I also thought you posted a few pics of a real rig.
