A question

Having neither the talent or the patience to create custom TFs, I was wondering if there was a forum for people looking to buy or sell their homemade TFs? I have seen quite a few customs I'd really love to have but I don't have the ability to make them myself.

There isn't a forum for it but customs appear on ebay a lot. You could always ask people to sell or make you a duplicate but they won't come cheap.

Is there a particular custom your after justynnbailey? -high fives for awesome username choice- The only reason I ask is that I have recently started accepting commissions.. of course, as Mykltron said.. they unfortunately dont come very cheap :\

Well, I have this idea to make G1/Classics/Universe versions of TFA characters (Lugnut, Bulkhead and Yoketron come to mind) I have seen a Cybertron Dirt Boss turned into Kup on this site as well. I was just curious too as far as price because I wouldnt ask someone to make one for me if I didn't have enough money ya know?

Interesting concept you have there! -scratches chin- I for one would like to see it done :P

I think I've seen that Kup custom.. possibly over on TFW2005 in their Radicons section.. I could be wrong though.

As for pricing a custom (if this information would at all be useful to you) I figure its fair to charge for the following,..

- The cost of buying the base mold (including any shipping costs if the base mold has to be purchased online),

- + £6 approx per hour spent painting said mold (which would also cover the cost of purchasing/replacing paints and supplies),

- + £10 approx per hour for any parts and time spend doing any kind of modification to the mold, such as the addition of parts or joints for example (possibly more if parts required for customization need to be purchased separately),

- and finally of course, + the cost of shipping the finished product to the buyer.

I feel that keeps prices fair as one custom could take me from as little as a couple of hours over a weekend to several hours each night over the space of a week or two, depending on the size and complexity of the custom of course.

..by all means if anyone reading this thinks I'm overcharging for something, or even UNDERcharging.. please speak up! :)

I do like the sound of your idea though justynnbailey, if you were to give someone a commission to do it, I would gladly give it a shot! :) (dont feel obligated to though of course!! lol)

I don't think the rate sounds too unreasonable.

I haven't seen your work.

*There are alot of great customizers out there who haven't broke ground yet and that might be your best bet to have your customs made at a reasonable cost.

*If you see a custom you like you could always message that customizer and see if they can meet your needs. (you probably already thought of that though.)

*FYI- for myself, I can't seem to make a quality custom if I'm not interested in the character (example: I wouldn't make a good TFA Ratchet....but I could make one hell of a devastator.)
