A Quick Disassembly Question

I usually take my figures apart when I paint them but I have run into a slight problem. I'm turning a ROTF Swerve into Sunstreaker. Behind Swerve's front wheels, you can see that red disc attached to it. I want to change that red behind the wheels to yellow without having to paint through the wheel itself.

Taking Swerve apart the disc is part of the wheel assembly. Is there any way to physically take the wheel off without causing too much damage? Is there any surefire way to remove any wheels that are attached the same way, or do I just cut the metal and have non-functioning wheels?

*Edit*
I already know the trick about using a hammer and small nail to removee the normal metal pins, but there is no way to do this with this mold. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I hate those damned blind flat-head pins. I swear HasTak is using them just to make disassembly hard for us customizers...

The only thing I can think of would be to drill out the smaller circle in the "hub" (between the five "lugs"), tap out the pin, and then fill the hole in with putty or, if you've got one, grab your micro punch set and some styrene.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
