The Energon Pub

I was never a fan of energon Downshift/Wheeljack's red "ears" and eyes. I got the idea today that I'd just paint the whole red back piece of his head blue, but I couldn't get it apart. I took the screw out but there must be some kind of glue keeping it together. I didn't force it, not wanting to break him. What is a good way to take apart these parts that have a screw and glue holding them together? Thanks!
