squeeze play articulated
Posted: Wed May 19, 2010 4:34 pmi dont know why it took me so much time but he is ready , some paint rub issues to correct and thats it .
what i did?
1.articulated limbs - used a KO landmine figure
2.articulated head- zoid ball joint
3.articulated the mouth- hlj ball joint
4.articulated creature legs- hlj ball joint
5.painted some scales in thermo purple paint, some parts in glow in the dark paint
6.painted metal parts with alclad2 chrome
7.2 SMD's in the eyes, build a battery case (batteries r replacable )
8.repro'd headmaster lokus and the tail/shield gun, knee cap
9.booster and fists from a random 1/144 gundam figure
10.guns one from a zoid the other my junker box
this is going to b a pic heavy post

booster mode
those boosters are attached with magnets to the trimmed fist of landmine , and in this mode no partsforming , the fists which have magnets as well r sitting in the boosters imitating some kind of thrust....
mouth articulation
battery case made from a plastic tube fromthe middle tube of those rolled "doggy poo bags"
SMD's those r a pain in the arse to solder,but they r mighty strong ,all the wiring was covered with tamiya putty , the transperancy of the eye is just kid's white glue once its dry it transperant (still thinking if to paint it transperant blue )
Thermo paint
this acrlylic ( non toxic )paint is heat reactive ,when is not hot (more then 30 deg c/86 f ) its retain its opacity but when u touch it or place it next to a heat emitting object (in this case my super old lap top - Its 7 yrs old give some R E S P E C T !!) the paint becomes completly translucent .
I painted the scales with flat enamel paint ,with a gundam marker i drew some " electronics" ---> the electronics is visable only when its hot !
the arm covers/creatures back are also painted with this paint but there are no surprises underneath
GLOW IN THE DARK -those mini ivory spots r glow in the dark paint
