Generations Thrust

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had modified their Thrusts the way I did mine.

I cut the wings, created sockets in the side of the turbines and fitted the ends in. It fits the turbines down into the wings (like in the G1 and botcon versions), gives a circular bay underneath that I painted black to have the turbines on the bottom, and the leftover piece I used to make a socket to mount the null rays closer to the body of the jet. The mod also increases the wingspan by about a centimetre on each wing.

I still plan to swap in the smokey cockpit glass from Dirge, but I am very happy with the outcome, looks like the Henkei Thrust (that I was too scared to mod) will be retired, and I can swap in the removable nose wheel I made for that Thrust.

Nice! When you have a chance, can you post some more pics?

I will try a robot mode pic after work today, was there some particular angle you are interested in?

Nice work, guy. That's the best look for Thrust's wings.

Robot mode. I have noticed that by laying the turbines into the wings, they interfere less with the arms (obviously not if you had them attached to the tail fins as I do with my Henkei one, but still...).

Underside of the wings, I'd love to see how you redid the weapons mount.

Oh, lol. I was less than artful there, it could have been done much more neatly. I figured since it was not going to be seen (yet now I am posting a pic of it on the net, :BANG_HEAD: cest la vie) it did not matter. When I sliced the wings I ended up with two wing strips with the mounting rings on. I cut one side of the ring off, cleaned them up and glued them under the wings where I wanted the null rays to attach. As I said, a bit messy. Another factor was that I did not want to strip them down to just the ring as I wanted a large gluing surface to make it a strong bond for yanking the null rays out from, they are pretty tight.

Hi, I thought I would post an update, I bought an extra Generations Dirge and pillaged it for it's cockpit glass. (My spare Dirge actually looks quite funky with a yellow cockpit)

So Thrust is now finished!

Edit: That is my heavily repainted Voyager Battle Blades Movie Prime in the background.
