Rotf: HftD BBBB

Hi there, This is the first time I've posted a custom here, but not the first custom I've done. Ussually I go with minor modifications, and repaints, but this time around, I've gone into slightly heavier modifications.I got myself an extra Hunt for the Decepticons Battle Blade Bumblebee so I could mod him all sorts of crazy. First what I did was removed the upper fenders from the hood and glued them onto the rest of the fenders. I wanted to just have them swing the doors into the middle of the figures back. Well, once I glued the fenders together, I realized that the back portions of the hood were in the way.. So, what I ended up having to do was cut the hood parts off, and glue those onto the central hood piece that is connected to the windshield. Once I did that, I already had it in my head that I wanted to cut the hinge pieces that the doors swung on off of the fenders and once I did that, I glued them into place in the doors. Now that they were free, I wasn't sure what to use to get the doors to be a part of the rest of the figure again.. What to do, what to do... Started looking at certain figures, and I realized that the arms from the RotF Legends Wheelie figure had exactly what I wanted, and through a LOT of trial and error (3 weeks worth). Finally, after going through 4 wheelies, the new swing arms are on, and allow the door wings to move in just about any direction that I want them to. Now, the mods STILL aren't done, and I am sending the base figure out to an acquaintance to help me out with some more mods. He will be adding a hinge and a ball joint to the windshield. The hinge will be at the seam of the hood, and the ball joint will be on the center of the central hood piece. This will hopefully, lol, allow the windshield to fold down into BB's back, and the hood piece to rotate around and sit flush against the torso's back. One other mod that he will be doing for me is going to be to make the rear hood become the smaller lower wings on BB's back. He has already done the mods to his own BB, and will be adding a ball joint to the hinge of the rear hood section so that it can spin around so that the lower wings will sit properly, and lastly, a fellow basher from TFW found a way to make the collar pieces for BB, and my acquaintance will also be adding them to my figure as well. While the figure is out, I will be doing some body work to the fenders and doors to make everything seamless with either bon-do, or maybe just some glazing putty. Until then here are some pictures of what I have done thus far!! Which is more or less finished other than the mods mentioned that will be sent off. When everything gets back to me, I have found the actual automotive paint that was used on the real Concept Camaros. Comments and constructive Criticism is welcome!! Thanks everyone!!

You found the original Camaro paint.Impressive!
Very well done. You tortured yourself, but you stuck to the mission.

Hey thanks orriezaros!! Yea, I found the actual paint online.. By it, it's $20 shipped for 4oz, but I think it's going to be VERY worth it. And I wouldn't say that I tortured myself.. just a couple love taps to the brain,

The figure is still in the hands of my acquaintance modding the chest panels and some other mods to him. I am also thinking of reworking the door arms already, as the way they are, they flop around a lot. I would like them to be a lot more stable than they are. The pictures that I have up, they are only staying like they are due to the doors leaning against the fender pieces. Thank again for the comment though!!

Wow... can't wait to see this finished. Love the idea for hinging the back to close in the torso and the idea to create the lower wings. Also, after staring closely at the pics, finally got a real understanding of the mechanical problems worked out so far... some really clever bashing in there!!! Keep us updated. Gotta see the finished product in the official paint.

Wow, thank you for the compliment, The guy doing the roof mods for me is about to be finishing it all up soon I am hoping. I should ask him to send those to my email so that I can share with you guys what is going on with the process..

I'm gonna get on that now that I think of it.

Wow someone who actually keeps a BB:P LOL J/k I have used almost every Bb since the movie figures came out for parts.. I just always found it to be a flawed mold but great for parts( I.e ball joints and head molds)
Lookin good though..
Don't take the lack of response personally , sometimes these forums go through dry spells.. I've had customs and such up here for weeks and close to 120 views..Eventually someone will see it

Thanks man! Yea, I'm kinda used to the radicons section over on TFW where people respond rather quickly, and I get weirded out if people don't respond when I see so many views but no responses.. Anyway, JUST GOT THE SUNRISE YELLOW IN THE MAIL!!! Hopefully the bot will be back soon, and I can start painting on this thing soon!!! Also, what's a BB:P??

Wow that paint looks awesome! How long does it take to dry and how well does it adhere to the plastic?

Depends. The base coat will dry as long as what ever type you use takes to dry. The top coat (the yellow) is a lacquer so it dries REALLY quick. You can get the color at Michael's craft stores. I think it's Sunrise yellow there, and that's an acrylic. But trying to get that to spray is a PITA..

Thanks, just a slight update, as I have gotten the figure back from my friend, and he's been completely dismantled and prepped for paint.

small teensy weensy update.. and slight mishap on my part (

). Almost all parts are base coated with the exception of a few that were forgotten when I left the house that day to my special painting spot (my grandparents have all the effin room in the world to paint in

). Also, I am in need of buying another BB because during disassembly I fragged the quarter panels up (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO). So tomorrow I shall venture to TRU and buy another for parts (unless someone here wishes to donate... No? Yeeaa, I didn't think so..) Anyway, when I get everything completedly base coated, I'll post a picture of what everything looks like base coated!!

Hey guys, long time no post!! Updates on this guy!! He's even further along than these pictures, but I haven't had time to take any more pictures lately. The only things I have left to do with this guy is paint the racing stripes, and fix some paint issues I've come across. Other than that, he's about done and ready to go. And just for a small teaser of what's next

Also, for those interested in the paint on BB, it's the Sunrise yellow pearl from HoC. It's not cheap for 4oz...

MORE NEW PICTURES!! These pics show how close to completion this thing is!All he needs now are his racing stripes which are being made into decals through another person on tfw, as well as an autobot insignia for his head crest, and I am hoping for some license plates for his ab and rear end in alt mode. ONTO PHOTOS!
