Skystalker

Although Skystalker is based on an experimental aircraft that seems to only exist in white I painted him black to make a matching pair with Mindwipe because of the (lame) combination gimmick consisting of one jet mounting riding on the back of the other, which I haven't even bothered to photograph because it's just so unimaginative. This meant that once again I had to abandon the Movieverse style in which the colour scheme comes from parts of the alternative mode sprinkled around a silvery skeleton.

Although I didn't enjoy this project as much as some others I enjoyed painting Skystalker more than Mindwipe because I wasn't restricted by a desire to homage another version of the character.

So here he is, Skystalker:

There are more pictures of him here, as well as pictures of him combined with Mindwipe in the style of Targetmasters.

Thanks for looking! Please leave me comments, praise and criticism...

Looks great. I always thought that model looked cool. I had to look because the name (Skystalker) reminded me of a name that my dad made up for a transformer... he he. (funny story...   )

What kind of paint did you use, by the way? It looks professional. Did you airbrush it?
:CON:

So what is the story? Is it anything about Luke Skywalker and stalking?

I used water based acrylics and it's all brushed on. I haven't explored airbrushing yet but am considering it.

No, its nothing like that, you'll think its silly

My dad made up the name "sky sticks" for the cherry pickers we saw out along the road. "Skystalker" kinda reminded me of sky stick buy you know it was cooler, I wanted to see if if was a cherry picker  (just joking)

But seriously you used waterbased paints, really? they look really good for acrylic. :CON:

Actually, I used acrylic silver for the drybrushing. I forgot about that.
