DoTM HA Whirl

Seeing Bighanks got my butt into gear and I finished this guy up.

Started as the HA Whirl. I took a Macross head and drilled into the eyes section and replaced with a rod from a Gundam frame. I added an antenna and earpiece made from various fodder.

Whirls hands (clamps) are from the DoTM Top Spin. A brand spanking new paint job later Whirl is looking like his G1 self!

Hella Awesome. His head is perfect too. I was wondering why they couldn't do a head more like we got with Swindle/Camshaft or dreadwing/overcast from the first movie line. But you got it perfectly.

Truly awesome!

BTW, is that head from a Yamato VF-1A? Please tell me that's a spare head, because the Macross Valk from Yamato would easily set you back 120 dollars. Can't imagine you'd rip the head off a hundred dollar fig.

Thanks! To answer your question.

I actually used the body to make a Thundercracker about a year ago for a charity auction. This was the head I popped of the VF.

Glad to know the rest was used for a good cause. BTW, I notice you recycled the missile pods, too. Cool. 8)

In any case, do you have a link to some pics of the custom Thundercracker you mentioned? I'd love to see how it looks.
