Transforming g1 megatron revised

I declared this custom completed and posted it on-line a while back, at the time it had scale issues with the head and arms, and also had a compromise with in the transformation were it separated in to two sections which transformed individually and attached (and re-attached) using magnets. At the time I accepted this transformation compromise as unavoidable. recently after a long break I made the difficult decision to re-engineer the transformation and fix the scale issues. the scale issues wasn't too much of a problem but re-doing the transformation was effectively as difficult as starting again from scratch (hence a new thread) as making even the smallest change in the figure can make lots of far reaching difficulties with transformation. here is my transforming g1 megatron which now stays in one piece throughout its entire transformation.

I originally started this custom as I have always wanted a good g1 megatron and haven't really got the cash to spend on a masterpiece one, so I thought I would have a go at making my very own from two junkers megs sold to me ages ago by misleading ebay sellers. I know that the gun alt mode isnt perfect and its probably not as good as masterpiece megs, but am I personally really like the end result I have reached especially as this megatron`s height and scale is about Wright to fit in with most g1 or universe figures.

What do you think of this custom? any opinions or feedback would be really welcome. thanks for viewing :CON:

This is a big improvement over what you posted before. Megatron looks much better. Good work!

Thanks for the good feedback. since posting this thread I have noticed other ways in which I can improve it. I have since started doing some more work on it, I have neatened up the chest area just under the gun barrel so it is symmetrical and has no gaps now. I'm in the process of improving and changing the arms so they are more articulated, slightly longer and in its alt mode they clip into there place tightly and leave no gaps. As well as doing this I plan to improve the handle area so it is smoother and neater. When I have made these improvements and maybe also made some of his accessories like his spiked ball and chain I will update this thread.

It is a little oversized for an arm cannon so maybe I could use a different cannon maybe the one from one of the g1 megatron action figures that have been released would be a more suitable scale but I have always liked that g1 megatron has a ridicules scaled cannnon so I don't think I will change it at the moment

as I said earlier I have made some changes which I have shown in the photos above I have also made the ball and chain accessories here in these photos

hi again I recently did some more work on this custom to try and improve it's alt mode and the scale of the robot mode I would love to hear any feedback or criticism on this piece. I updated the photos at the start of this thread and have some more here but left some of the old build on a previous comment so you can see the progress
