Mini-Maximus Prime

So many n00bs these days ... kitbashing and repainting is something I haven't done for a few years so most people probably haven't even seen my previous work. And unless you've been playing HMW for years, you wouldn't have even heard of Mini-Maximus Prime and his infamous shenanigans.

So this was a little project to ease me back into the game. I based the colour scheme on the first (Action Master) Mini-Maximus Prime, but went for a brighter shade of pink. I have to admit, the colours turned out better than I expected.

Dodgy and needs some touch ups? For sure. But like I said, haven't done this for a few years. The next few projects will hopefully be better.

But enough babbling, let's get this show on the road!

 I like it.
Well, I havnt been on this site long enough to say I know anything, and I cant really get into HMW because, to be honest, I don't really get it.
But, I also never knew you customized. Taking a look at your other customs, I see alot of G1 figures. I dont think ive seen too many people repaint G1 figures. It's pretty cool though.

Couple of reasons for that.

• They're cheap and readily available. I can't afford to mess with a brand new figure. Plus you can pick up damaged G1's on E-Bay and "bring them back to life"
• It's fun to take a "brick" and add articulation to it.

To this day I have always wanted to see someone try to articulate armada Overload. I see no reason why it CANT be done [-(

lol ... I have looked. But as a brick goes, he's pretty damn solid.

I still love the figure though for it's brickyness.

I love him, but putting elbows in there shouldnt be too hard for someone who articulates fidures regularly. I think its just odd that no matter how much I search, not one person has done it! (At least to my knowlege)

I've been playing HMW for a little while now and I still don't get the jokes.
Anyway, it's pretty neat. That mold is so much fun though you could do him in tie dye and he would look dope.

Now, your Bludge, Bloodshed(the red is perfect for him) and Dead Reckoning(I now see this figure every time I am teamed up with him  ) are real nice.
I'm working on my first kitbash instead of straight repaint now using
a G1 Hun-Grr. Finding the right parts to use can be a real head-scratcher .

You might have missed them because they're starting to get on in years. Some of the in-jokes also come about through MSN conversations back in the day.

And that is why I did so much kitbashing back when HMW was on a high! It was so much fun bringing those little text characters on screen to life! I miss the days when we had kitbashes, digibashes and fanfics getting posted on a nearly daily basis in the HMW forums.

Those three were all pretty much experimental for me. Bludge was my first (and so far only) attempt at dry brushing. Absolute pain in the arse.

Bloodshed was following someone elses version of Shockwave where they swapped the arms, and of course, I had to add a big gun. Hadn't really done much part swapping before.

And Dead Reckoning ... what started off as an idea called "Franken-Prime" ended up with a partly articulated (also an experiment) G1 Powermaster Prime mixed with a original G1 Prime Cab and a crap load of weapons. It was also fun trying weapons from all sorts of different franchises (Gundam, Zoids, $2 cheapies)

Mate, I have had that idea in my head for many many years. What I envision is not going to be a simple repaint and throw some big guns on.

So it's going to be a fair while yet unfortunately.

Is making a figure more posable as complicated as it looks?

Depends on the figure, but yeah it can be.
