Testors Metallic Silver
GW Macragge Blue
GW Yriel Yellow blended with Polyscale D&RGW Yellow
Red Sharpie super-fine paint pen

One thing I did that worked much to my surprise was applying a coat of gloss finish and then dry brushing the original colors over the finish.

That is boss, nuff said, okay maybe not enough. Great Modding and sculpting, as well as pallet application, which comes round full circle to That is boss

Any tips on the Shapeways material? Looking at doing this, but not sure which way to go. Also, pointers on painting that would be nice as well.

Go with the Ultra Fine material and be prepared to do a lot of careful sanding.

I finally painted up my V2 kit and the results are below. I really like the hands which work flipped. But even the Frosted Ultra Detail material makes it hard to get a decent finish!
