I find it an odd choice to make tailgate red and black when I believe he is white and blue (not sure if thats only canon to the toyline and g1 or also the show) but I think the dark energon background works well for him. I still think this is a great custom though. From what I see the paint is pretty smooth and the colors work well. The decals are a nice touch too. Nice work.

The paint looks good, but is this supposed to be a "Dark Energon" or "Shattered Glass" version of Tailgate? the color pallet chosen just screams Decepticon. Like Protecticus said, Tailgate is white with light blue trim in G1, the comics, and in Prime (toy at least, as well as renders for packaging)

Actually... If you read the descript, you would see that it's a dark energon verson... however you're right in the sense that I used my ideas for a shattered glass version in making this dark energon version.... He basically was resurrected by Megatron using dark energon from back in the 5 part series premiere... but what happens is that he's a tragic hero in the sense that he's this violent, emotionless brute of a character... who somehow is able to barely shake off his corrupted programming and remember his autobot core... that's why he has his autobot insignia despite the very decepticon-ish coloring.... He is constantly battling himself to keep control...

The decals on the chest, if you notice has a circuitry pattern... I used them to show the damage from when Airachnid had eviscerated him... and then the dark energon purple to help show he's infused by it....
