Hello everyone!

I haven't worked on a custom of my own for a while once inspiration hit, I knew I had to get this guy done. This custom figure is my rendition of Fall of Cybertron Red Alert. The first three pictures have missing paint apps on the missile launcher, but the 4th one shows what it looks like now. I hope you all enjoy!

Very nice work!

What paints did you use? I am going to work on a Super Ninja Counter Arrow from a MW Prowl and that is the same color scheme.

Again, we'll done!

Thank you very much devilingrey!

For this custom I used Tamiya Acrylic Paint in a spray can. The color I used was called Italian red. Other than that I used tamiya acrylic flat aluminum to paint the face (which I've found to be a good touch up paint for any toys that have hasbro silver paint that may have been scratched or rubbed off, Tamiya Acrylic metallic blue for the eyes and a black Gundam Marker for the panel lining. As you can see I personally like acrylic paints lol. There are many reasons for why I do: First, because it dries quickly; and secondly, 90% rubbing alcohol can be used to fix mistakes, to remove current paint on the figure that you are trying to paint and even clean your brushes. Enamels are not my friend lol, they never truly "dry" on figures and it gets bothersome to have to clean with a special enamel thinner that you have to buy at a hobbyshop.

Rubbing alcohol= $1 for a nice size bottle. Enamel thinner and brush cleaner= $4 for a tiny bottle.

Btw, I'm not familiar with what a "Super Ninja Counter Arrow" is, can you send me a link to a picture? or is that your own custom character?

Thanks again and I look forward to your custom!

Thank you for the advice! It is much appreciated.

Super Ninja Counter Arrow is actually Spy Changer Mirage form Robots in Disguise. He was Mirage in the US and Counter Arrow in Japan. There is a red and white repaint that was released in a random draw box. Here is a link :

G1 Mirage is the main focus of my collection and my favorite character. Although not exactly the same, RID Mirage is somewhat close.

Have you done other customs?

I am going to start mine in a week or two and I will post pics when done. Right now I am trying to take some pics of my collection.

Hey, not a problem! I am glad I could help in any way. G1 Mirage is a great character and I am glad to have a classics mold of him. That Counter Arrow figure is fantastic! I'm sure yours will turn out great. If you don't mine me asking, what is the base mold that you will be using to create your custom?

As for any other customs I have done, the only other one I have posted is my Classics Earth Mode Soundwave: http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=87457&p=1393751#p1392548
I have done others, but I have not posted them on seibertron.com ;)

That Soundwave is pretty sweet! I didn't think about it before but the speakers really scream repaint me into Soundwave. Your paint jobs are very smooth. I can't seem to get that on a couple of pieces I have been practicing on.

I am torn as far as which model I am going to convert to Counter Arrow. It will either be a Machine Wars Prowl (http://tfu.info/1997/Autobot/Prowl/prowl.htm) or a KO classics Mirage. I have mixed feelings about buying a KO but the price is right. Classics Mirage costs way to much for my budget to buy and then repaint.

Thank you very much, that's with a hobby paint in a can! Just make sure you do multiple light coats. The heavier the coat is, the more globby and bad it will look. As for the figure it self, I think both of your choices will be quite viable as I agree that a legit classics mirage is crazy expensive.
