LEGO "War of Cybertron" Octane triple changer

It's about freakin time I made this guy. Even though it took me 2 months to build from scratch (including downtime of 2 weeks to wait for some specialised parts to arrive) , some of the core ideas on the transformation ,was in my brain for many many months (eg. how the jet wings sandwiched between the fuel tank). So lets just say completing this project means a certain milestone for me. There aint many Triple changers I desire to make using LEGO after this one. I might move on to more mysterious or darker TF figures in the future.

Anyway, back to this Octane. I started building without knowing how the final truck will looks like. Only after I finished the cab/truck front.. I noticed how closely it resembled FOC Prime in a certain ways. Since I aimed primarily on a recognisable tanker truck, even the jet mode started to look like an afterthought. So what's an equivalent of a earthen civilian jetliner in a war-torn Cybertron ? Army/ Troop transport of coz! So having Octane transform into a dropship would be pretty apt, dont u think so ?

ps: I deliberately use black accented wings coz they looked contrasting to the mostly white featureless fuel tank . Not unlike a skunk =)

I absolutely love this figure. I want one. Like, now! maybe a parts list, so I can go mug Lego.com of their supply. Teh truck mode is incredible, there's a few rough spots on the flyer mode (drop ship? I see a supply shuttle), the robot mode is, kinda like you say on the blog, a bit rough bu t justifibly so given the sheer number of parts. I must confess though, I absolutely do not like the head. I've never been able to get past the two light studs and an end gable for a face in anything except maybe a Shockwave build, or Whirl. What you've built is awesome but I just can't get over the literal blockheadedness. I'm gonna go raid the Kreo pics and see if I can find a suitable Octane Noggin. Or Tresob, h'e go Kreos out the exhaust...
