So,
I am back to conceptualizing new customs again. This time, I took a look at cyberverse Twinstrike and almost immediately then looked up on my shelf at G1 DoubleCross.

Then I started thinking about it and played with Twinstrike a bit and realized that with a slight modification to the direction of the dragon heads, and slightly modified transformation in alt mose Doublecross was clearly achievable. I have digibashed a photo of him in robot mode to illustrate the concept. The only real customizing aside from paint would be to remove the front legs and add a set of wings. Possibly from a Predaking. As long as I maintained the ball joint correctly, they could swivel into the correct position either way.
What do you guys think of the idea?

This is a great idea! The mold seems to be a good fit for Doublecross.

I have a soft spot for the Doublecross toy as my mom bought me one when I was a wee lad, recovering in the hospital. I still have that toy!

Can't wait to see this finished. Growing up doublecross was my favorite toy. Loved the color scheme and alt mode. :D

Thanks guys.
I am hoping to pick up the extra figure today Then I have to figure out how to remove the rivets where the shoulders mount to the body.
I have never done that part before. Hopefully I can find a tutorial online somewhere.

I don't have the toy and photos of the toy I've found aren't clear so I can't see for myself but what kind of rivets secure the shoulders to the torso?

Are they metal pins like you normally find in hinge joints?

If so, I embedded a video showing one way to remove metal pins in this thread:

That may help.

I don't see how Hasbro can't end up doing this...

Actually, it is the nailhead pins in the shoulders like what you see on wheels a lot. What I think I will do is try and find a magnet strong enough to pull the pin. I would be worried about warping if I just heated up the pin and pulled on the plastic itself.

Once I get that, the next thing I have to do is find some wings. I'm thinking CutThroat, if he ever makes mass retail, will be perfect because he has the right sized wings with the arms attached.
