The Energon Pub

This is a pic of Impactor, leader of an elite Autobot fighting force from the U.K. Comics. This was commissioned by Mkall.
Had to make a lot of it up, cause the comics from the 80's left much to be desired in terms of art and details.

Great detailing. What is his alt mode? I cant figure out if its a dump truck or a tractor...

According to some of the link to info I was given, he was never in his alt mode in the comics. But based on them it appeared that he was some kind of truck/tank/jeep. Probably military because of the large cannon on his shoulder.
Like I said, I had to improvise. Maybe some one else can clarify.

There's been some conjecture that his alt would have been a tank. I saw a bash of him ages ago based off the G2 Hero Megatron mould. The way he was drawn in the UK comics had a prominent jutting chest that's a good match for that toy.

Hmmm, could be. with the headlight looking things on his chest I was leaning toward truck or jeep.

That I had since I usually do lots of sketches before the final draft. I liked it so I decided to do a quick ink on it. I got carried away and then shaded it.

I'm kinda preferring the first one, but hell, both are bloody amazing and a great tribute to a enigmatic character.

Fantastic stuff, especially the first one - I love the detailing on it. I agree, I'm almost certain he was a tank, and the Megatron/Archforce version of him looked suprisingly close to the original. But this is a beautiful take on him. Maybe it could be considered a reformatted version?

The only negative thing I have to say is that the alt mode isn't overly Cybertronian, more of an Earth based look.

But really, it's a pointless complaint considering we've never seen Impactor's alt mode so it can be anything, and it's in no way a put down of your work, because I love how they've all turned out.

Plus you could just about modify a Cybertron Defense Hot Shot into that alt.

That....is killer.
