While We wait for Fall of 2008 to come around so the Universe line is released, I give you what might have been had they remolded Classics Rodimus into Sunstreaker.

Nicely done. Looks good.
I'm not sure how much I like the black flames though.
Are you going to do the alt mode too?

Slick stuff. Love it, the flames give him that new car feel.
The only thing is the hands look chromy, and have an outline. But I dont care, it's one step c;oser to Sideswipe.

Suits Sunstreaker, I can just see him looking at himself in a mirror.

I think the Black flames suit him nicely. Since the Original had that black stripe on the roof, I though the Flames would make a nice updated version.

As for the Alt mode, I'm working on it, but i need to match the robot parts to the car mode.

Yeah the hands suck, but its really hard to turn black plastic into any other color digitally.

Considering you've basically just repainted it and added a new head, I think you've done a great job. I'm pretty sure Habro wouldn't do an official version like this as more than a redeco, particularly since the expanded head he's now got which would require some tunnelling in the torso to allow it to fit.

Personally, I think I'd do quite a few things different were I to reconfigure Rodimus into Sunstreaker, although if I had the money to splash out on an extra couple of figs, and thought I had the time to do it (and finish before the official figs are released next year), I would. Deco-wise, I think I'd lose the flames in favour of stripes, and I'd also retool the engine block, possibly into an intake, and smooth over the exhausts. I'd also find some way to mod the spoiler with a combined rear intake that mounts on his back in robot mode.

That would be cool
