Industrial Light & Magic, are you looking?

Bay would have done much better w/ you aboard. He could still have the ugly tribal tattoo TFs he wants so badly and still manage to be familiar to the common fan.

You nailed it, 10/10 :APPLAUSE:

The colour, head, body and the alt mode fit with the Soundwave persona. It's an up to date alt mode that fits in with the movie theme but still has the main characteristics of the classic character.

Why the film couldn't compromise with a design like this I'll never know. This would have gone a long way to stopping the divide regarding the character choice/designs.

Excellent work, I love it.

Who knows? the more i see timshin's design's and the more i sit and look at my rather "comic" style sketches, the more i see that fan element & input was not heeded in character design.

hind sight is always brilliant, but everything is set.

However, timshin i applaud your work and your forward, modern yet classic design. Excellent work

Looks great, but could you gold trim the chest?

Actually I was thinking there about the windscreen.

As I can identify the various parts such as the grille, tires etc, I was actually thinking about the windshield, and wonder if it could slip round to cover the grille and have his insignia etched into it (i.e like ironhide has the autobot insignia embossed on his drophatch)?

Barring any minor tweaks and general tightening up, this should be my final version. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions and comments. I found them largely helpful in getting this to look as much like the movie style while keeping the classic shapes in mind as possible. It's an interesting balancing act. I had fun working on it.

I hope to get some designs for his minions completed sometime in the near future.

Thanks again. :)

=P~

I don't think anyone on either side of the issue of how the designs should be would dislike this for Soundwave.

You have really taken the strengths and eliminated the weaknesses of both Bay's designs and G1 designs and have created something much greater than both.

Bravo!

:APPLAUSE:

For your next attempt. Make a movie poster with your designs because I think that would be awesome!

i think that they should have had a contest allowing us fans to pick the designs of the transformers. Cause i would have voted 100% for that pic of soundwave.

Any chance of getting a larger widescreen wallpaper? I'd love to use it on my screen but it gets distorted when I apply it.

Yeah, that kicks ass! Well Done! That design is easily recognizable, and acceptable as Soundwave, in my opinion. This is what I hoped for from the movie designs.

This design is great, on the money. But I would challenge you to push the envelope a bit further on the head design, while still maintaining the soundwave look. Reason I say that is because is pretty much the cartoon head, with a few minor changes. In reality, when trasnlated into a solid form, it may fall a bit short. Maybe, you can just push it a bit more, not toooooo much, just a bit more. But I love your work, and I wished they had people like you on the team over at Bay's camp.

i.e

You Megatron re-design is off the meter, and you kept pushing your screamer head until it just got better, but I think it still needs some work.
