The Custom Transformers CCG!! Updated daily!!

I have always wanted a simple and easy way to play transformers in a card game, so I developed a simple system that everyone can learn..

Basically the Character Card has the Hit Points totalled on the card and says which cards it interacts with to produce higher points..

the "Upgrade cards" give that extra boost to your HP...

then when in use with attack and defense cards that HP number helps determine how powerful each attack you deal will be..

the Area cards, like Earth, Cybertron, Quintessa, etc... add extra HP or Defense and Firepower to each character..

that's it...

pretty simple..when the HP is gone that character is dead.. and the other player wins!!.. you can play 3 Bots on the field at a time..

So here is the first Card fromt his custom series, as I go along, I will do the Back sides and each character from the Ark... that will be my personal collectible card game.. I am gonna have Kinkos print these off in doubles so I can play with a friend, and they can do a double sided print, which I then just cut out, and Voalla!!! Instant CCG Cards!!!

this card is pretty simple, the top section tells you how many HP (health Points) the character has and DP (defense Points), all while on a Teletran-1 looking Screen... the HP is added by the tech specs below the image of the character...

the extra Power up bonuses, in addition to what the "Upgrade card" gives is shown in the box..

the symbols of Cybertron, Teletran-1, and the Matrix show that this character can use those special cards...

that's pretty much it... this is a rough final draft, so be gentle..the next card I do will be the Decepticons purple underwater base type, and will be cool too!!

enjoy, and check back frequently for more characters being updated.. thanks!!

So here are the cards I have completed so far...

I love the idea of this, if the board had a setup like YuGiOh, where you could have a pile of Alt forms (like the fusion deck zone), that you can use on a certain command or ability effect. I'd love to see more!

yeah, i'm not done with the rules yet, it's still a work in progress, but I want to do something cool with the Altmodes.. wait you'll like what I'm gonna add to that.. I need to do all the cards related to prime, and power ups, then i'll come back and add more characters, and their power ups..it'll be cool..

Hey, that's awesome!
I was thinking about something like this, you had to pay with Energon to somon a TF and merge them, and if you maneged to sommon a Cityformer you would get 6 extra spaces for Characters.

Thanks for the compliments, i'm glad you like that one..

yeah i was gonna do something similar for that with the later series.. see in my expansions of the cards they would incorporate all the series into one.. like the universes were converging.. giving you the power to fight anyone you want...

you could have an army of all Primes, or Megatrons... it'd be pretty cool..

also, the first series is gonna be just the bots on the Ark, but after I'll do season 3 and beyond.. and with newer seasons, the backgound of the card starts to change depending on the series.. liek wait till you see the Victory cards I'm working on... wow!!! Or the Armada designs.. and the Animated series will be there too!!

Same here, each season would have been a booster pack series, while all the toy only characters would have been the secret promos!

sorry to keep on comparing to YuGiOh (it's the TCG I'm playing right now), but it would be cool to add Gestalts as having all the chracters on the field first, then merging them (I guess with energon? Or something else), then you could get characters like Devastator :D

how about the Combiner card, that once you play them in your upgrades section next to your character, you'll then be able to draw the Particular Gestalt's card...like Devestator and predaking, etc... which gives you one turn of invulnerability, and then also increases your attack by like 50 points for that one turn only! that would drop a characters HP down considerably, but the power doesn't last but one turn and then your gestalt has to become seperate bots again..
and you discard the Devestator character card..

also tonight I'm doing Megatron's card... so be looking for that tomorrow morning..

then i'll do the power upgrades, 2 at a time for the Autobots and Decepticons..

You should have Ore-13 as an ability, gives you a massive boost in Attack for a turn, but brings down your health.

WHICH SHOULD I USE?

I think I prefer the first design.

Also, why are we not talking about the Dinobot cards? (sub-faction benefits for fighting together? Anyone?)

Bring on the crazy CCG goodness!

NOT A PROBLEM, SO THE FIRST CARD IS BETTER???... I think I can modify it to be slightly better looking whilst still retaining that classic and simple charm.. the Dinos as a team..hmmmmm.. :-? Let me work out the kinks in that rule.. that would be a good gestalt counter card..

And would even still stay true to their origins! In games like this it is important to maintain the feel of the universe....

It sounds like you've been able to fill in some of the gaps in the play and rules to have a more polished CCG. I really like this idea. I personally think it has a lot of potential.

LOve the Avatar...

thanks for the vote of confidence.. I have been streamlining the rules and the cards themselves to make better use of the art work, the icons and the points systems..

Basically the fundamentals are as follows..

HP (hit points)
1. your characters tech specs are what your HP (health Points) are based on, they are located in the left box at the top of the card.

DP (defense Points)
2. the DP (defense Points) are located in the right top box. those points drop as you take hits on the battle ground. Once the DP is depleted your attacks will hit strickly your HP until that character is in stasis lock.. or dead..

Attack/Power up cards
3. the attack cards deal the damage or add dp or HP to each character card.

Altmode Cards
4. the transformation into an altmode allows your character to become shielded during a round, and will protect you from stasis lock or death in the event your HP points are too low to recover quickly.. that defensive mode comes with its own set of DP, which is seperate from your Robot mode DP.

Location Cards
5. these area cards tell where a battle takes place and adds points depending on the character and the cards icons..example:
if your bot has a Cybertron Icon in the Icon box, then you play at the cybertron location, what ever bonuses given to that faction either Autobot or Decepticon will enchance that characters attack or HP, and DP. Depending on the rules on that Location card.

Scoring and winning
6. you will need a dice and a piece of paper to keep score. the last card standing on the battle field is the winner.

Gestalt/gang rules are as follows,7. you must have the equivalent of that many players to form a Gestalt. the Gestalt once formed has a 3 hit continuous attack but can only sustain that format until the 3 hit is completed, once done, you have to become the 5 character cards again and must remain that way until 4 rounds have passed. If used correctly the Gestalt attack could devestate the opponents hand, thus winning the game.. the same applies to insecticons, when all are together they can form a super attack, but only when all are together..

Special Abilities
8. there are special power cards that give special abilities to the sdpecific Character cards played int he game.. you'll see once I'm done with the characters themselves, which cards are for which power and characters..

Additional rules
9. there are additional rules and points that are listed in the bottom boxes under the characters name and image, they add to that characters HP and DP depending on the power up card used. there are also memorable quotes from the Tech specs that bring the whole thing a nostalgic touch.

that's pretty much it. It's a pretty easy rules system to follow, and don't knock some of the weaker foes, they may have lower HP, but their DP will more then make up for it.. though the way attack cards are set up, DP goes pretty fast.. eventually I'd like to do expansions based on the newer shows and have them compatible with this system for G-1. for now I'm concentrating on the Ark crew and the Gestalts, then the attack cards and power ups.. after that I'll go forward with the triple changer rules and the other things I have planned that will really improve game play..

nahh... as much as I would enjoy being able to make money off this idea, It's really just for fun and for the entire fandom to download and print, and play... it's just here for you guys to use as a resource.. so collect it, download it, print them.. play and enjoy..

I have some cards I would want to become foil cards, Variants.. so I'll post those later..

I'm still a little confused about the Gestalt rule, but I'm guessing once played it would make scents.

You know just printing up a set for yourself wouldn't break any rules. Seeing these cards "in the flesh" one day would be badass, even if we can't buy them.
