War Within game models

As some of you may know, i make game models for the game Freedom Force, and have made a CONSIDERABLE number of pre-TF:TM models from Prime and Megs to the Combiners to even Whirl and Roadbuster. Most of them are based on the cartoon 'look', so they are a bit 'cartooney'.

Recently I decided to make some more realistically proportioned and looking meshes of the War Within versions of the various TF's, but was rather disappointed at the look of the Seekers... mainly because they were slightly boring. So, instead, I decided to base the Seekers on Cybertron Starscream, who was pretty much inspired by War Within Starscream.

The end result?

I also made skins for him based on the WW looks for Thundercracker and Skywarp:

The future meshes of this timeline I make will be the "actual" WarWithin versions... I just liked Cyb Starscream better than WW Starscream (et al).

Oh, and as the pic of Screamer shows, the mesh actually transforms for the "Flight" animation. :D

It's a superhero RTS/RPG from 2002. The sequal, "Freedom Force vs The Third Reich", came out last year

OMG! Those are awsome. I like the war within Prime best, you could make a TFWar within game with those!

PRECISELY my intent!

See, I have already made a dinky little 3-level Mod for TF's based on G1 cartoon with a dash of comic and my own continuity, and am planning a 5 mission expansion to it.

Basiclly, ep 4 will go back in time and show us a scene during the Great War on Cybertron, with the Dynobots and a few others, and mention made of the Wreckers, with Topspin and Twintwist (who, IIRC, HAVE Cybertronian modes) at least cameoing. Then ep 5-8 will be my own version of why Ultra Magnus (a white OP in the game) ends up having to wear his trailer armor - in my version of the story, he gets badly wounded in about 1993 or so, and develops a crack on his LaserCore that is plugged up in tractor/trailer mode, but not robot mode...

Anyway, next item up for bids will be WW Megatron...

That seems like a really cool idea. BTW, If you do make a War within TF game and you need voices for it. I recommend this site

Good luck 8)

I probably could convert them to UT2k4... except I have had CRAP for luck trying to do so in the past.

Quake 3 seems to be the only FPS I can convert to.

You'll definatley have to post a link to the finished Freedom Force mod when your done. I'd love to take it for a spin.

The initial 3 levels are done, and have been for a while.

It's at:

http://newpowerinc.com/mods.htm

The levels with the WW meshes, and the ones following, are only in the planning stages, however.

Are you planning on making it compatible with FF vs the 3rd Reich? Or is it going to be an original Freedom force only thing.

Well I went ahead and tried out your mod. Looks great, love most of the voice work, and the moleds rock. And apparently I suck because I have yet to get past Devastator with four tires. I do fine up until the seekers, then they whittle me down and Dev comes out and squishes me even with the help of the big guy.

Unfortunately, differences in coding and how they handled the 'Talking heads' for the cutscenes, there are no plans for converting the mod to FFvTTR.

I didnt do the coding, BTW... just 3/4 of the maps (mish 1&2 and the cutscene 'bases'), the player models, and some of the objects, like the Energon Cubes that replaced the Energy-X canisters.

Oh, and though I had an actual pro voice actor (George LeDoux, the man who voiced Minutman and Microwave!) volunteer his time to me as a VA, and voice Jazz, Megatron, and Ultra Magnus, I myself did several of the voices. To be exact:

Bumblebee, Ironhide, Mirage, Omega Supreme, Prowl, Wheeljack, Generic Autobot, Generic Seeker, Generic Trooper, Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, Devastator, Cy-Kill, and the Insecticons were all voiced by me.

By the way, the best way to handle Devastator is to RUN, and then Omega Supreme catches up with him, overpower your melee attacks. Leave the ranged attacks for dealing with Starscream and the Seekers.

Finally beat Dev, guy was still a pain in the but though. No one died this time though. Went with Magnus, Ironhide, and Jetfire as my team, and it went well. Got whooped up on when I started lvl two though. Skywarp is a tough little guy, and I wasn't expecting the horde to pop up after I took out the lone seeker sitting near the starting area. A few guys, like Mirage jsut seem way underpowered. But over all really like this mod.

I based the actual game stats on their "official" numbers, and then cented them slightly to better fit the way they were portrayed in the 'toon. For exampe, Bluestreak supposedly has the same Endurance as Ironhide, yet in the show never demonstrated that level of durability.

Heheh... just wait until you breakthrough the force dome and hop down the hole...

they are a good start man, but for Q3 you can add some more detail to them, make better use of the polygons from what I can tell, mind if I saw some wireframes? I may be able to give you some advice.

Also if you need some help on the textures, let me know, its what I do :D

what program are you using to model these in? and whats your texture map size?

damn, is that really what WWi Megatron's transformation is!? All this time I thought it was more complicated. They really boned up that titanium version of him.

Truth. The Titanium version is just an insult to the amazing WW design.

But according to these pictures from the tfw2005 boards, it's not supposed to be War Within Megatron, since the tag thing doesn't say War Within before Megatron, it just says Megatron, while it says War Within before Optimus Prime.
