So yeah, here's my take on Movie Scorponok (think I gotta change the legs a bit though).

And a link to the design sketch, with basic altmode concept:

EDIT: Another version, this with more weapons and different legs (prefer this design myself).

Still need to draw the vehicle mode...

hmmm, something that didn't occure to me before, Are they going to design the transformers the way the cartoonists of the eightys did, this looks cool so screw physics. Since they are doing the designs instead of basing them directly off toys, I'm slightly more worried now. As cool as it is we're getting a TF live movie at all, Michael Bay has me worried.

From what Michael Bay said, they are going to be angular instead of blocky (I think he either meant Returner or Alternator), all limbs are from actual car parts (like the Citroen C4 commercial, with possible exception of the head), and are homages to their old versions (for example, Prime is blue and grey and has bulky body, but you can still tell it's Prime). Oh yeah, and they'll have biomechanical features (machine-like eyes instead of just glowing optics, for example).

In any case, I wish Hasbro good luck with making toys out of them. They'll probably have to hire Four Horsemen or Todd McFarlene for the sculpts.

OOO he looks like Magneto its very cool, I kinda picture this is what Transtech would have been like if they had gone along with that, have you done any more?

do you mean returner the movie?
and what do you mean with prime being blue and grey, don't you mean red.

Appearantly, he has grey instead of red in the concept art.

If they transform like that jet from the Returner movie I'll be happy. That was one of the coolest effects I've seen in a long time.

Nice ideas, but not quite what the movie bots will look like IMO. ;)

For example, Scorponok is motorcycle sized a minion, with the scorpionoid form being his robot mode.

Yeah, heard about that a few days ago, trying to come up with a new one now. But isn't that changed, along with everything else from the first draft?

EDIT: And I also found out that the Megatron concept was that of Transtech Galvatron, looks like they used that as a reference.

Original design this time, I want it nothing to do with that Monkey Jet.

I have issues with that Starscream design. Too much in the way of exposed innards in robot mode.

Finally finished it. It was a rather annoying process making it (rain=hate), but it worked out pretty good once I got the hang of it.

Got a whole bucket of new concepts for ya. Was bored and inspired by all the movie news, so... :) 8) Bear in mind that most are WIPs, though.

Image
First up is Bumblebee, in his 70s form. Kept the basic look of G1 Bumblebee the same, but made him more 'grown up' (for example: his roof is stillt he chest, but the sides of it fold up to make him thinner), since the same thing happened with his altmode. :)

Image
Next is "Devastator", or whatever the hell he's called. Kept some of the G1 Devastator looks, but mostly made him a new bot that's supposed to be a tall, heavily armed gladiator/war machine.

Image
New Megatron concept, since it's said that he's a Cybertronian jet now. Sides, I wanted to see if he could still have his G1 look while being a jet.

Image
The bot everyone loves to hate: Soundbyte. Made him terminator-esque to allow him to be as tall as a human, and to instill fear in the pathetics meatbags that thought he was a mere entertainment device. Also made him a nightmarish version of things we are familiar with; note the CDs of Doom launcher on his shoulder and the Spiked Plug Grappling Hook on his right wrist.

Image
Vortex, supposedly the first Con we see in action. Redid Scorponok as well, but made him slightly bigger then the descriptions said (I think 4 meters long is the perfect length for a giant killer scorpion, instead of bicycle sized). There are rumors that Vortex is Soundwave after all, so that's why I made the head to look like both. Also have troubles deciding between the chest looks; wanted something original, but the canopy for a shoulder is just silly, even if it looks cool. Oh yeah, the helicopter tail becomes a tail for Vortex, like with Cyclonus (it also moves up his back when Scorponok is ejected, to fill in the gap).

Image

Brawl, arguably the most popular of the new Decepticons, due to his badge and 'tattoo'. Originally wanted to make him a 4-door patrol car, but the next day I saw the pics of the real one, so I immediately changed it (hood was supposed to say LAPD as well). Didn't want another carhood-bot, so that's why I went with the trunk for a chest look.

Finished another piece today, involving the Vortex design:
