These are sketches of character designs for a comic that me and a friend are about to start. It'll be a real comic sold in stores and such. Everything here is a rough sketch unless noted.

The comic will be a teen book, super hero type of universe but the teens are just normal kids. It will deal with alot of different things. The main part of the story is the main girl is trying to get back an egyptian artifact that was her fathers, who is dead now. Plus traking down the bad guy that killed her dad. And taking on a team of super heroes that are like the Justice League. And of course theres an even greater bad guy at the end. The story also deals with the Egyptian goddess Bast and about people falling religions blindly. To much to go into right now.

First the teen characters who are the main characters.

Main character: Tabby

Keen Gear (there was alot of ideas thrown around for her. First she was gonna have a power suit like IronMan then it was she was a robot but didn't know it. But ended on making her a mechanic.)

I forgot his name. but pretty much a teen version of Jet Li.

Black Magic (dresses like a stage magician)

Girl Friday (dresses like shes from the 1930-1940s.

Her in normal clothes

Still one more character i havnt done a design for.

Looks cool! One thing that might be a good idea is to do a sort of issue #0 as a free online comic. That way people can check out what it'll be like beforehand.

It's tough to get people to read new books nowadays. In particular, the type of book your doing is farily popular right now due to Runaways. Your first order of business should be to establish that it's not just a copy, or that you're simply trying to cash in on it. People are getting pickier about their books.

Yeah i've read Runaways when it first came out. The first 6 issues so nothing was really going on plot wise at that point. But there are alot of things i wanted to do with the series but my friend says Runaways already did it. So we are trying to stay as far away from Runaways as we can.

I havnt read any comics in over 2 years now. I didn't even know teen books are the in thing now. But since high school most of our stories were teen books.

But yeah we'll try to do something with it online so people can read a preview or something along those lines.

So you're running away from Runaways?
Not funny.. apologies.

Anyways - the concept is interesting - the character designs are appealing.
Looking forward to this.

Heres the last character of the team. Names Heroic. Supposed to be like a "superman" type character. The only one of the team to have real powers.

And this is Tabbys (main girl) dad. Not sure which helmet to go with.

I love that! Personnaly I'd go with the fist helmet. More flexible, and will allow for posing. I've worn a helmet like the second one you drew. Aside from the weight crushing my lungs and shoulders, I had little visibiltly and I couldn't turn my head without catching it on my shoulder. If you go with it make sure he has some kind of video display on the inside to see out of.

Comics being comics I say go with the second one. It looks cooler, and lets be honest, physics and the reality of weights and such are meaningless in worlds where things an be made of super light materials and people have super powers.

Agreed. The first design looks more practical and wearable, but the second looks more stylish. #2 is the Paris Fashion Week version, #1 is the High Street knockoff.

Nice designs. I definitely agree that an online #0 would be a good way to hook readers into buying the main book.
It'll be interesting to see where this goes. Good luck with it, mate. 8)
