Yeh I know what you mean - tbh I was using the alternators smokescreen head design - is hard finding that point at which you can put expression into what is ultimately a piece of metal!

Any tips?

Nice! I like the Smokescreen. You did an excellent job on the hands (hate drawing hands)

I agree - i've got so many pics that have gone really well but then are let down by some poor attempt at hands!!!

That is pretty good advice :-?

The main thing with hands is to remember that although the have lots of individual moving planes they are a single unit (eg-it has to look like a hand not a bunch of bananas!)

To in that regard there are 2 tricks i will mention;

1-Try drawing the general postive space of the hand-then even if anatomical details are wrong, teh whole thing will look right.

Which ties into my second piece of advice......

2-Forget getting it perfect, if u need to fudge a bit-or hide it in shadow do.

Ultamitly drawing is deception, so u can lie a bit :grin:

Wow, I'm liking this art. Especially the smokescreen. In fact, may I color it for you?

Good point i think hands and feet are a common to hand problems on in any case feet being a real pain in the ass to get right first time.

3-We have rubbers and some times if you draw the parts of the hands as sticks and joints you can build up from there

Yeh go ahead - you're more than welcome! I'd be interesting to see what it comes out like - i'm useless at colouring myself! :grin:

Fantastic advice for all drawings! U oughta always draw out ur pic as a sketch first, this is why comics have pencil artists!!!
