The Energon Pub

This is a commission-in-progress for a fellow member of the TF Collector's Club. It is comprised of 5 different iterations of Blackarachnia: (top row) Beast Wars, Transtech, Transmetal; (bottom row) Beast Machines and Animated.

It's been off and on for a few months, whenever I find the time to dedicate myself to its full attention because I am very much a perfectionist when it comes to commission work. Anyway, I though I'd let you guys get a glimpse at the entirety of the work thus far, kind of like fast forwarding! I'll probably get yelled at for dumping so much art into one thread, but.... oh well. I have to say that I enjoy just scrolling down and looking at the progression over time.

You're wrong. It's so epic it's caused internal haemorrhaging in my eyes and it's all dripping out, my body's macabre attempt to blind me to it's epicness so that no more sheer-epic-damage can be done.

Got a lot more done since my last update than I thought I would! I think I've finally realized that my free time is going to be significantly hindered after the baby is born, so I gotta step on it!

Anyways, I just wanted to let you all know that Beast Machines BA is about 50 percent complete, I'd say. Take a look, and let me know what you think.

Well, as I had nothing to do while all my wife's cooking digested slowly in my system, I spent the majority of today working on this commission. I did take a break from it to keep myself focused, and cranked out the TFA Scorponok as a byproduct. I am proud to say now that Beast Wars Blackarachnia is done!

I'm very proud of her look. Back when I was first drawing her, I knew how I wanted some of the colors to look, and had a few things up my sleeve I wanted to try. I wanted to push texture with her. The biggest one was that I wanted to get certain parts to really look like a spider's 'skin'. I also wanted some truly organic looking 'claws', not the Tigger stripes we saw in the show or on the toys... I think I pulled both off.

I also have to say I'm really impressed with how she came out looking like she is wearing a latex bodice, but when you look closer you can see all the little dots that I painstakingly painted in :> Also, while there is a lot of black in this picture, her black is unique and stands out from the rest. I think she has to be my favorite thus far.

And I'm sorry for rambling. Hope you guys enjoy the pic. :>

hey alti.. has the peice been finished?

Unfortunately, my laptop has had to go back into the shop again for another blown hard drive. I had just replaced the last one about three months ago. It's getting pretty ridiculous.

As a result, I haven't been able to upload any new artwork at all, let alone any progress on this commission, since the middle of Dec.

Sorry, fellas. I'll be posting anything I get as soon as I'm back to work, that's for sure. Here's hoping that's sooner rather than later.
