here's a pic of an age old struggle. With prime especially, I was trying to go for a bit of a gundam feel. Let me know what you all think.

cheers :D

This is really really impressive work my friend. You have a deviant art page? I'd like to see more of your stuff.

This is fantastic.

I luv your style, which program do you use? Photoshop? Illustrator? Paint?

The designs are awesome, and your choice colors are spot on. The only thing I would do in the Megatron Prime pic is separate the two by changing the color scheme on one, example being saturate one character more and de-saturate another less so both characters pop form each other being they're layered on top of each other. Which should recieve which treatment I'll leave to you. Either way it looks fantastic.

Also, the other piece you included is Aces as well, what are you thinking in terms of BG?

Hope to see more,
Josh

that'll be photoshop. y'know truth is, i posted prime/megs without it ever truly being finished. I put heart and soul into working on it originally, but in the background stage i could'nt acheive wot i wanted, lost heart and filed it under re-visit. couple of months later, and i thought "this is finished innit?" and here it is. as you can see prime has (in my opinion) some sloppy inner glows and wot not, in indeed an attempt to seperate the two, at which point i had stopped taking it seriously and was experimenting

bg for alt prime:none stark contrast between character and whit backdrop. kinda less is more.

I'm seriously impressed with your work. Def someone I'd want to see do a comic book. Do you have much done? You should try and submit some of this to IDW. It's nice to have a different take on TF's.

Ah, good ol' PS. Well very nice experimentations. Less is more, ha ha ha, awesome. I know what you mean. Well I hope to see more of your experiments and art pieces in the future. You should look into being a cover artist though, I think it would be a fun.

Also try painting with textures. Being, just look up photos of rustic textures and steel and such and apply them to your art pieces....it's lots of fun and brings out alot in an art piece. Mostly the way I get it to blend is using the "Multiply" blending mode in my "Layers" panel and then playing with the opacity. I also use alot of smudge Tool set on finger paint mode for when I'm looking for a more painted look. And when I want to bring out highlights and shadows, the Burn and Dodge tool work wonders if you change the brush mode.

Kay, enough Photoshop talk ha ha ha,

Josh

Thanks to both josh and prime evil for the comments, tips are always welcome, and it is nice to hear someone thinks I should approach official companies with this. For anyone interested i started a new topic with a megatron piece http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=145&t=57595
feel free to take a look.

Thanks to the other replies also. all appreciated. :D
