Masterpiece Prime WIP (art, not a toy)

I didnt really know where else to post this as i didnt want to hijack anyone elses thread so i thought i would make my own, hope thats ok?

Anyway this is the second stage (i will also include the first stage so you can see what changes i have made since) of my WIP (Work In Progress) piece, or homage to Optimus Prime from Transformers: The Movie.

As you can see it is far from finished as i still have alot of detailing left to do mainly in the background and adding in some more particle effects and learning how to draw laser fire without it just looking like a bunch of misplaced lines.

I used my 20th Anni/Masterpiece Prime figure for the small details on Prime himself, as well as using it to help me get the pose down correctly.

You can tell its the toy since some features from the toy are included in the pic that the original G1 design of Prime doesnt have.

That was intentional, as i love the toy and i wanted to also pay homage to what could possibly be the best TF toy ever made!

I doubt i will ever color this though, so if anyone here has good coloring skills and would like to color it for me once i finished the line work then you may be my guest! I would be really grateful!

Let me know what you think and if you are interested in coloring the pic once im done with it.

That's amasing, if I'm not mistaken, that's an explosion between Prime and the trailer. So how about giving him a bit of Battle damege, like traces af fier on his parts, that would lett him look even more heroic. Keep it up.

Thats an impressive piece of work. Nicely done. especially the second pic. Although Prime looks a bit femminine in the drawing.

I was thinking about adding the battle damage, but there is already so much detail in the pic its hard to find space to add in the detail without it looking like its just been cut and pasted over the rest of the image.

I think i might try that though, he didnt have any damage on him in this scene from the film, but since he is based on the 20th anni/masterpiece toy and i am paying tribute to the toy as well, it would make sense to have mild battle scarring.

You shuld stop puting your own art down like that. You must admit you'r one of the best artists around.

That's a big problem, that if you can't control it it will ruin your work. Ther are so many pics I've workt on for days, never beeing plesed with them and dumping them.

By femminine, I meant the position his left hand is in, and the way his chest seems to taper down to a narrow waist. Sorta like the fembots. Don't worry about it, Megs had many a camp pose (am I allowed to say that or will the PC police come after me? :???: ) when firing his fusion cannon over the course of the series. Besides, I only have eyes for Wheelie. I kid, I kid.

You shouldn't put yourself down though, this is a magnificent piece of artwork. Especially the detailing on it.

Ahh i getcha. I still dont really see it, since Primes waist was always thinner than his chest like that, just like a mans body does we arent just straight boxes, unlike most TF's lol.

I thought you thought he looked femenine because of his thigh, its quite curvy i have noticed, but again this was something that happened in artwork of Prime all the time, as well as in the cartoons so i didnt think much of it. :)

Thanks for pointing that out though, although i wont be changing anything on this pic i will make sure to make sure he doesnt look femenine in the next pic i draw of him.

And the putting myself down thing...i always do that, just what i do. I dont have a very high opinion of myself and next to no ego so i tend to put myself down before anyone else can, that way nothing anyone says feels so bad afterwards...i guess its some sorta defense system. *shrug*

Thankyou for noticing the detail too, i put alot of work into that. now all i gotta do is ink the bugger, but im now busy with making a trailer for the MP figure.
