The Energon Pub

So, now's as good a time as any to unveil my current project.
It started with a plan to create an alien Beast Wars. Just a little fan comic I was making, alien creatures, new characters, a giant base-former. Then I had an idea. My drawings looked too simple so I had a look at the Transtech designs floating around the internet and attempted drawing some of them in my own interpretation. And I really enjoyed it.
A month or two later and I've got tons of sketches lying around, sheets and sheets of ideas, bios and story lines. And best of all, I have a project.

So, first there was G1. Then followed Beast Wars, then beast machines wrapped everything up. Or so we thought. What if the peace held by the new senate wasn't a peaceful as we'd thought? A now ancient Decepticon holds together the pieces that will allow the Predacons to return in full glory. A scientist. A mechanic. And a monster. Soon he will have an army.
The Maximals are of course blissfully unaware of the threat these four possess, and are too busy fussing about the return of a scientific exploration ship to notice.


So, I'm creating designs and characters influenced by the Transtech designs I mentioned before and will be making a comic, and possibly even an animated comic if I can, taking aspects of pretty much every TF fiction seen to date.

You'll see the remaining Beast Wars/Machines cast fighting along side the original G1 Optimus Prime to defeat some of the oldest Decepticons still functioning.
I'm even going to include some fan made characters, like my Justicity and other "Grim Squeaker" creations getting minor roles. (These will be background characters of my choosing, asking won't get you a place)

Just so you know "The final war of the Beasts" is the WIP name until I can think of something better, I'm not very imaginative when it comes to titles. (anyone willing to offer ideas let me know)

I guess this is the first time I'm officially promoting my project, so now would be the best time to say:

Here's a sample of my work:
Cheetor Prime:

After Optimus Primal's sacrifice, Cheetor took the position of Prime to keep Cybertron in peace. He also started the New Cybertron Strike Force; A group of five teams, Alpha through Echo, created to keep the peace on Cybertron and protect it from outside forces. They essentially serve as a police force for the most part.
His design is based on the progression of his appearance throughout the Beast saga. He now appears as a tall, well adjusted Prime. His beat mode is of course a Cheetah and he even gains a vehicle mode, a high speed pursuit vehicle!

Optimus Prime:

Lord Optimus returns to Cybertron after a long scientific voyage and returns to the position of "Prime". His role in the story is pretty much what it's always been. His back story before the comic is pretty boring, and I don't want to give away too much about issue one, so that's it.
The design is based on the concept art for Transtech, but a bit less "I HAVE HUGE SHOULDERS!" and a bit more old-bot. He transforms into (dull surprise) a truck. He'll gain a third "mode" that I've cleverly hidden with spoiler smudge XD You'll have to wait to see that.
This drawing was drawn on a looooooong car journey and so is a little poor, and lacking detail. I would fix this but I've already got a good idea on what he'll look like so I'd rather get the other characters done first.

Silverbolt:

Silverbolt returns to his Beast Wars position of "Knight in shining armour"! He leads Team Alpha, commanding Nightscream, Clocker and his partner Blackarachnia. Every now and then he shudders as he makes a visit to a bar in sector Tangent to visit his old friend Rattrap.
His design is of course based off a knight of legend. His wide shoulder pads, heavily decorative armour, helmet and twin swords are all reflective of his personality. His wings even fold down under his shoulder pads to create a cape when he's not flying. He transforms into a bird of prey and a high speed jet.

Blackarachnia:

Blackarachnia is back, mean, offensive and sarcastic as ever. Working with her old friends in Team Alpha, Blackarachnia's grown up a bit, but hasn't lost her sense of humour. After the battle for the sparks she's got a much better perspective on things, and heads Cybertron's research division while not fighting the slowly increasing number of rebels running riot.
Her design is taken from what was possible one of the rejected Transtech designs for her, and she gets a lot more character in profile than head on (these pics'll come soon). She transforms into a Spider and a Motor bike. She also gets back the use of ranged artillery, having not been able to shoot a foe since her original Predacon body.

Nightscream:

Never fear Transfans, he's no longer the whiney, girly, teenage git he was in Beast Machines. Nightscreem's done a Cheetor, and has grown up a little with his new body. He still constantly pesters Cheetor Prime, but no longer blames himself for the loss of the hundreds of thousands of sparks of Cybertron, Optimus Primal saved them
His design is currently a little disproportionate, I'll make the legs bigger when I redraw/ink it. He's still a bat, along side Ratbat, but now he has a vehicle mode in the form of a hypersonic stealth jet. The design for this is far from finished, as you an see by the poor sketch under the beast mode. Three stiff wires fold out from his arms in beast mode, creating beams of energy that form his wings.

Senator Ratbat:

I'm trying to avoid Ratbat's stereotypes here. He is the G1 Ratbat, and has managed to keep his seat on the senate for a long time, giving him a lot of power. While he doesn't exactly serve Cheetor Prime as much as Cheetor would like, at least he doesn't serve or provide for the Predacons. And don't worry, as far as I know now he won't be put into a Cassette sized body any time soon.
His design is very simple compared to the rest at the moment, and I'd like to make his Bat head look more detailed, similar to Nightscream's. It isn't based at all on the Timelines transtech Ratbat, mainly because I didn't like that design at all and also because I want to separate them from each other. Like Nightscream he has energy wings. Unlike Nightscream his vehicle mode is a kick aft Motorbike.

Megatron:

I don't know what you think of this one, but to me;
Megatron.
Is.
Awesome!
I love this design, which is based heavily on his existing transtech sketches. It makes him look old, grumpy, and of course powerful. Just what you'd expect after what I'm having him put through. He is of course a tank, which you can see disproportionately scribbled on the side.
Now, some of you may wonder why he's not Galvatron. This IS G1 Megatron, but I'm NOT ignoring the Movie, season 3 & 4 by any means. In this continuity, after the events of G1 (possibly including the Japanese G1) Galvatron was eventually lost to space. Floating around for millennia he completely lost the little sanity he had, but eventually regained his self. He was eventually recovered, rebuilt and rebooted, wiping Galvatron from the data tracks as "insanity", ready to lead the Predacons to victory.

The Scientist:

So, it might be obvious who this guy is, I might have even mentioned him in previous posts. For now though, he is... (dramatic pause) "the Scientist"!
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN!
To avoid confusion and "WTF" moments/comments I'm not confirming who the Decepticons serving under Megatron are for now. Depending on your personal cannon one or more of them can be considered dead: Their return WILL be explained fully in the comic. Please don't post guesses and questions...
He transforms into a semi-tank/car thing. The concept art for that will be up next weekend. I haven't got it finalised yet, but it's getting there. His design is inspired by many many things. His secondary arms hold all kinds of tools and items, the one on his left side has many pincery-claw things, like Scorponok from the 07 movie.


Justicity/Justice:

Grim Squeakers creations hit a new level! As I said before, my Squeaker-drawn fan 'con Justicity, along with other Squeaker creations will be given transtech bodies and background roles in the comic to avoid generic looking cannonfodder-bots. Justice however does get a slightly bigger role, though he still barely gets to talk, returning a few times in "Giant [EFF!]ing Tank" mode to blow up some of Cybertron's large and important buildings/areas.
(Again) As I said before, I will be deciding what fan characters to use, no amount of asking will get other characters a place. Sorry, I just don't want to be pestered about this. I may quickly sketch out requests if you ask nicely and I have the time ^^

Interesting...

I would have posted some actual pictures up by now, but work got me to basically work double the usual amount this week and I've barely had a moment with the scanner. Got the next few days off so I'll finally be able to get some stuff up here. I promise that "interesting" will evolve Charmader style into a "Ooooooooh! Interesting" tomorrow.
Just as soon as I've gotten some sleep...
