TF movie styled Hot Rod

This was something I had done in anticipation for Revenge of the Fallen, I actually did another drawing that I managed to get Alex Milne to Critique. The first one looked too much like the G1 Hot Rod said Milne, it needed something to give it that movie feel. Upon reading this I went back to the drawing board, and the result was THIS!

I had originally posted the lineart which I had Mr. Milne critique again, he said this one was much better and definitely had the movie feel. it just required colour, so I coloured it, which is what you are looking at.
Wha'cha think?

Nice, I dig it.
Also, first post.
I'd maybe redo his face to give him a slightly more humanoid appearance a-la Optimus and Ratchet, or at least a discernable mouth like Sideswipe.
Good choice with the Viper alt mode, though.

Thanks.
I actually thoucht the face suited him. The first one I did I admit had a more humanoid face but it didn't work out very well.
Yeah I figured it would suit him, my earlier choices were Ford GT, Dodge Viper, or Dodge Avenger

It looks very much like Sideswipe yet is clearly Hot Rod. It works. I think that having rollerblade feet suits our brash young headstrong hero!
Have you considered submitting your work
here? Please follow the submission guidelines though!

Yeah I kind of looked off of Sideswipe for some of the parts, just to get an idea. It was better than looking off of Bumblebee. Yeah I figured the rollerblade feet would fit. now he can go at high speeds in both modes.
I'm not sure, I didn't think it could be submitted there. I'll have to give it a shot

I think I already commented on this in another thread, but again I'll say that I like it. Has a nice feel to it. Would love to see a digital rendition of it in the future.

yeah you already commented, thanks again. Don't worry, as soon as school starts I intend to do a digital colouring job, maybe an MTMTE page

Not that my non-artistic say should have any real weight, but a) I love the design, and b) I really like the face you drew it with. I'm not a huge fan of the movie-style humanoid faces, myself, and this is a great compromise--definitely in the style, but not weird (like, Bumblebee's big round protruding eyeballs freak me out).
Nice work!

Thanks HK, I thought the face was pretty cool too, I had done a humanoid face before but it just didn't work, so I think this face was an improvement. And you're right, bumblebee's face does look bizare, I mean iot looks like he has a pacifier where his mouth should be.
Thanks again

That looks pretty good. I can see the Sideswipe resemblance especially with the hip joints.
And a Viper seems like a good choice.

Looks good. I'm parcial to the battle mask look, so the face that you drew I like better than the humanoid type that have been used in the recent movies/cartoons. Keep up the good work.

thanks you too. yeah that would be Hot Rod's face serg. I'm not sure if he will get a battle mask, maybe something like the visor he had in the 80's movie. And yeah Iknow he looks like Sideswipe Shonenfan, I kinda looked off of the sideswipe toy for the build and such, since he sort of matched my idea for hot rod. It was a better choice than bumblebee
