The Primes
Posted: Tue Jan 26, 2010 7:45 pmThis was me having absolutely way too much fun. After reading the first issue of the new Transformers ongoing series I got inspired by Don's idea to give a more personalized look to the Transformers. So this was my attempt.
If you've seen any of my other stuff then you know I'm a heavy anime drawing weirdo who lives in his mom's basement. So when I was working on these, after I finished I could tell that mecha anime heavily influenced me for this work. I think they now look like a cross between Gundams and the original Autobots.
I drew and Photoshopped both Optimus and Rodimus. The background image and Transformer title were found on a google search since I was too lazy to make a real background, or make a personalized title.
FYI: the kanji on Optimus' shoulder is Shogun, means General. A bit of a play off of how in the original G1 there were times when they reffered to him as Convoy Shogun
