I entered the TFW2005 Shockwave art contest and came up with this:



literally at the last moment (entries due at 11:59 PM. mine was posted at 11:56 PM).

15 miniute sketch. 15 minute marker rendering. 40 minutes turd polishing in Photoshop.

I started this tonight when I got home from my inlaws. Several beers in me before I even got started, so it's pretty sloppy. And this has nothing to do with a movie version of Shockwave, obviously. Just fan art jollies on my part.

Turd polishing? Melvin Van Peebles will be upset. =p (maybe two people in the world will get that, but those two people will love me for it).

In all seriousness, that's really great, especially for the short amount of time you had to do it. I like that, without a lot of details, you managed to convey a good sense of setting in the background. And, of course, any picture giving Shockwave love is a plus. Great work, and good luck in the contest!

Cool, but I somehow expected a Movie monster thingy (don't mean I hate movie designs... maybe Frenzy)
But this is realy nice, not even the lack of detail don't kill it for me.

those quick sketches sometimes capture more than the labored ones. this is a fine example.

I was hoping to have time to slap some type on this pic so it might look like a mock comic book cover, but I ran out of time.

Dude, if I could draw like that even with a week to work on it, then I wouldn't be as modest as you are.

Within a hour and while intoxicated, you still drew something ten times better than anything I could draw on my best drawing day ever.

I guess I'll just make a living by storing GrimSqueaker's shirts within me. That way I'll be a great drawer.
