I can't say I've been missing the Maximals. I do miss the close, and often mesyy, battles with the Preds. Maybe upping the spawn rates a tad would be nice. Sometimes it just gets boring crushing Autobots. I'm sure at somepoint and time last week they were ALL in their CR chambers.

I'll be honest, I've never been interested in the tabletop version of DnD. Why bother, when Baulder's Gate and Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 does all the work for you?

alot of people feel that way, but for us its an excuse for friends to hang-out and bs and have a good time. when we "play" for 8 hours, its normally only 3 hours of play and 5 hours of laughing and arguing.

It's been a good 5 or so years since I've last played, but my God, isn't that the truth.

Dont ask me why, but tabletop DnD hasn ever really done much in this country. Ive never known anybody who plays it, and it has never occoured to me to play it.

In fact, for the majority of my life, DnD was nothing more than a particularly aweful cartoon.

More options then either of those games offer. Granted, DnD isn't as flexible as I'd like, but there are ways around.

its as flexible as th dm allows. then theres the d20 system games, like the anime system, and d20 mecha. their both pretty fun companion's to use.

I dont know about baulder's gate (cause i've played it all of once) but I know both the neverwinter games have come with a relm builder, so, in fact, with a bit of effort, the DnD based computer games are every bit as flexible as table top version.

No, they're not. They come as close as they can, but there is no climbing, or flying. Abouth a tenth of the spell selection, and they just scratch the top of prestiege classes. There are technically over 30 base clases, not just the 13 they provide, and they gimped warlock in NWN2.

there are also hundreds of playable races. Not all of them can be done right with nwn, we've tried.

I'm not saying its a bad game, i'm sayin it isn't as flexible as the tabletop one. It's not a bad computer based substitute, but i'd rather sit and see my friends any day.

I've found that I can't create a vast majority of my characters in DnD. There's just no way to do so. Partially because I created them for a comic book/story I work on occasionally and no written character really starts off at level 1, and partially because my main influences are anime, videogames, and comics, which are pretty far from DnD. Even BeSM doesn't entirely work, but it comes closer.

I've played DnD since back in the days of THAC0, Exalted, Rifts, Custom world based on Hero system, Shadowrun, Used to play MErps. I still like a good sit down card game of Munchkin here and there though.

I like DnD as video games, I'm still playing with NWN if I have time (of course, every latest patch is needed for it, they really add to the visuals)
