Since Glyph's new problem/bug report thread went poof in the board wipe, I suppose a replica thread is in order.. don't get me wrong, I <3 the Insecticons. :P

Post your HMW problems/bugs/etc. here. :)

Thanks Phasewing. :)

When posting bugs, please try to give as much information as possible - character IDs, battle numbers, exactly what you were doing when the problem occurred, etc - to help me replicate the problem and/or figure out its source so that I can fix it.

Thanks!

My problem involves passcodes as well. I've been trying to heal my Characters in the CR Chamber to no avail. The passcodes aren't accepted even though they are typed correctly.

Working my way through the passcoded pages atm. As the problem with them is something I can't fix with my access, I'm temporarily disabling them.

;)^ :APPLAUSE:

Thanks so much. You got my characters out of debt. I don't know when but I am ready to play. Thanks again.

It's not a bug I know. But when I tried the PM feature it wouldn't send. Duh. It's down. Forgive me. Sometimes you just get used to certain things.

Any thanks. They are charging now.

Yeah, I know. I prefer it without them too. The problem is that it's so damn easy to run macros without them. It'd take me maybe an hour tops to throw together a client-side script that could keep my bots going into battle 24/7, and I code relatively slowly.

An alternative way of doing the passcodes would be to ask for it at random intervals rather than on every page, but that would be at least as annoying if not more so - when you're trying to get into that mission with 5 secs to go, you won't be happy to be redirected to the 'please enter this passcode to prove you're not a macro' page.

Unless I can come up with some way of verifying the user that can't be spoofed by a script, that's about all the options I have without ignoring macros at the point of access and instead resorting to some kind of over-complex statistical analysis of playing patterns to identify them.

Why is the Allosaur altmode labelled as a land animal when it clearly is a dinosaur :???:

Why not have the passcode when you're activating your bots in that screen. It would still verify the user and they'd only have to do it that one time to get 6 active bots in and then could disperse them wherever without a passcode, but then after getting them out of CR or activating the next set you'd have to enter the passcode again. Wouldn't that work just as well as having to enter it at missions and arena battles and be less annoying for the players?

That is an alternative I've been thinking about.

Because it would qualify as both. Plus it has Avoid and Ram and not just Ram. Aren't Pterdactyl's considered air animals as well? :P

Is it possible to get the login time out extended a bit?

It seems I barely have enough time to go get a drink before I have to spend the next minute logging back in through 3 different pages. :?

That's not really a solid explanation...

Why would, for example, the Allosaur be a land animal when the Triceratops is a dinosaur?

Beacuse an Allosaur is fast and a Triceratops is slow.

Firstly, It's not really a bug its more of an error, all the new (as in today they were released) Alt modes for the decepticons aren't showing up on the data base and when I went to redo one of my guys the program says it's not in my faction, this counts for all of the new alt modes.

Secondly I noticed earlier when putting my guys into battle there is no password system, has that broken or have you guys removed it?

There's still some last minute tweeking on the rotation system, I think. Glyph is doing today's alt rotation manually when he has a moment, then next week will begin the true 'auto' part of it.

Edit:
Yeah, here it is....

Glyph wrote:Surely that's just Murphy's Law? :P

Anyhow, I will do my best to start the rotator tonight. Under normal circumstances it would run at 0100 CST on the Monday of every week, but I chose not to enable it yet as I have a smallish amount work still to do on the classifications of the older alts. Unsurprisingly, the forum crash on Thursday and the fallout / cleanup from that has been top priority over the last few days.

I'll start it manually as soon as I'm ready to do so.

Both last week the passwords were showing up but when typed in would come back with incorrect password so Glyph took them off until he can fix it

To be perfectly honest it's probably to differentiate between the T-Rex and Allosaur alts. Until the alts rotate the 'Cons already have 2 or 3 T-Rex alts classified as Dinosaurs. Allosaurs look very much like T-Rex's except they don't have short stubby arms and other differences. But most people mistake them. If it makes you feel better the 2 Velociraptors we have are split: one is a dinosaur and the other is a small animal.

Such as Allosaurs being predators and T-rexes being scavengers.

For example. :P

I meant physical differences. But yes that's one of the differences they have. :P

Interrupting the dino discussion for a minute, we're now one bug down. Took me a while to track down the problem and jump through the little hoops, but BBCode now works in sigs again!

Have fun! ;)

It works in sigs now, but now it doesn't show up right in the profiles.
