Somehow it took me 7 months to discover this. Looks awesome. I am curently dead, but making my way to lavel 1.

And hell yes I'm on the cons. Looked like there a few too many goody two shoes joining the 'bots.

So, i read on the FAQs that theres a con forum. I can't find the link though. Care to oblige?

Actually you just joined and I don't know if OS has a script running to automatically allow a person access to the faction forums once they join the game or not.

Thanks, will do. BTW, I noticed a lot of people have a ton of exp and ares till level zero as they just fight in arena. Is there a strategic reason to not advance through the levels by doing missions?

ehhhhh advantages and disadvantages.

In the arena it's one on one, you've got pretty good odds of NOT getting shut out.

Whereas missions if you find yourself outnumbered you might leave with no xp or energon.

On the other hand, missions offer more than one target so you have better chances of earning more than your base xp.

And most people will tell you to stay at level 0 to build up your energon reserves (as the cr chamber is suppose to be free at level 0) but I don't think you'll have an energon problem any time soon.

So given that I am successful, missions offer faster exp. I gathered that you do not level up unless you are doing arena and missions. So as long as I stick to one of them, i can stay level zero and byuild up my reserves?

I'm going to have to peruse all the noob posts here. I'm sure all this has already been answered in someone else's post.

Your level is determined by the number of upgrades you have.

Five upgrades to level 1, then another 9 upgrades after that for each level (14-2, 23-3 etc)

At first it's going to seem slow as hell because until you get some upgrades it's mostly all random. Best thing to do is to see which missions already have bots in them, if you find yourself being outnumbered too often pop into the arena now and then. Mix it up, give it a while and you'll soon work out a system of your own.

That makes perfect sense.

One thing I was curious about. I bought an X ray laser thingy ma jig when I first started. However, no new weapons have become available for sale since then. Do they become available as people put them up for sale or as I level up?

Sadly as there are more level 0-1 players that any others the lower level weapons sell out very quickly. If you post that you're looking for some then somone might release one they can spare or have 'out-grown'.

Weapons have been a big problem here that should be sorted out when V2 starts.

Yeah at the moment weapons need to be resupplied manually by the admin, it's not something OS (or even Glyph back in his day) really want to do as people buy weapons, equip them, then quit playing, so the data builds up in the database.

And when things don't get restocked, they sell out.
*insert generic complaint about people hoarding weapons*

So really, at this stage, just do what you can, try things out, because there'll be a whole new game in a few weeks.

So, in a few weeks, everyone will be starting from scratch or will existing characters be imported in at their current levels?

Edit: Just read the FAQ on V2. What perfect timing for me to join. Get in a little practice before the new version.

Basic details like names and bios will be kept but xp, energon & weapons will be reset.

So yeah, we'll all be level 0 come V2.
