I'd gladly accept your gentleman's agreement, although I am only 1 and many others wouldn't accept. Also as my crew are all lvl 3 I'd still be eligable for use.

Personally, I think nerfing is the better option, as as it stands once you've got a Shatterblaster there is little point in putting any points into Firepower and Skill, until you decide to get a fusion canon or magnus hammer.

Depends on how nerfy ya wanna get.
As a 2 upgrade weapon it should only have a median damage of 11 (not the 40-50 something it has now) but that'd be a real kick in the teeth to people who have one.
At the very least it should be nerfed to be like the XS2.
Lightsaber would be better.

How about we stop blaming the poor little Shatterblasters? They're a beautiful weapon, it's not their fault that nearly every other weapon isn't as beautiful as they are. If anything needs tinkering with it's the higher stat weapons that aren't currently worth upgrading to. I'd much rather see some variety of weapons used than everyone just going for the handful that are actually decent all the time. I'd love to use some others myself but I just don't seen anything viable between the 2 stat, XS2, Lightsaber and Shatterblaster and the Fusion Cannon. Except maybe the Atomic Firebreath and Gattling Gun.

I have never seen these shatter blasters are they better than the xs2 nullrifles I filled my boots with?

I do echo the sentiment about weapon variety but the nature of competitive play means people will gravitate to the best in order to have the edge, which in turn means more will come to it to ensure a level playing field.

Yeah they're much much better. They can do one-shot kills like the Fusion Cannon. All for 1 Fp, 1 Sk.

I'm working on a re-balancing scheme.
Some of it could be done without a programmer but it'd require much work by Burn.
As he is overworked as it is I was waiting to bring it until such time as Wingz is given the power.
I was also waiting until we (TAG) had damage values for ALL the weapons.

There's also the option of rebalancing weapons to the old scheme but again until we work out all the weapons I wouldn't know which ones all need adjusting to help Burn out so he's not wasting his time checking them all himself.

I'd be willing to do this, but I highly doubt it would work. I've seen a few people in that range carrying them on 10 or more characters ;)

The way I see it, it'd be a viable option to delete/recall them, level them, OR stock them in plenty. My reasoning is that the weapon itself is something that players are obviously enjoying. The conflict lies in the limited amount and the limited variety of weapons used by players by proxy (have them and kill or be killed by them). Restocking them so that everyone wanting them could have them did not break the game for lightsabers and null-rays. The biggest problem with doing the same for Shatterblasters is that they literally have the power of the highest tier weapons, which depreciates the value of said highest tier weapons. In this regard, I use the words "viable option" rather than "desirable" or "preferred".

I guess you could technically make them like the XS2 Null-Rays, the same damage for slightly different stats, that may work also. Personally, I'd like to see a bigger variety of weapons being used, also, but most will likely gravitate to the strongest weapon. A workable balance may be a lot to ask, though.

Would rather have a demand for weapons with better ranges/fair cooldowns rather than a poor man's fusion cannon/magnus hammer and 1 or 2 shot opponents... I expect that from hell missions... not low levels.

Shatterblasters have been nerfed and it's damage brought into line similar to the XS2's.

XS2's have also had their cost increased from 100-1000. If anyone has a problem with that, just ask in your respective faction thread for a donation.

Both weapons have also been restocked.

I would expect Bun-Bun has thought about this but what about setting a cap for the weapons at certain levels? This might involve a bit more coding though which be a pain unless Burn can do it.

As in limiting certain weapons to certain levels?
It would be a neat tool to have but that's not a thing that's possible any time in the near future.

I could knock out balanced numbers easily, either along the old system or my idea of a new, more balanced system. Again the problem is that all the really hard work falls squarely on Burn's shoulders.

For now it seems we're just going to have to stick with putting Band-Aids on the worst problems.
