Earlier today, I looked into the process of how new players can join HMW. The process, at best, is abysmal, and appears to be non-existent. If any of you are interested, I would like to come up with a proper page that promotes HMW, encourages people to register, provides links to login, maybe showcases a few things like recent missions, arenas, featured characters and/or players, etc. Just looking for some suggestions, guidance, mock-ups, and all around good ideas.

Full disclosure: I may or may not use the ideas posted.

Let's see what you've got in mind that you think would help promote HMW to people who aren't playing it currently. Looking forward to seeing what you guys have in mind.

Turns out, new players can't register to play at all. Redirect errors prevent it from happening. Urgh. It's a miracle anyone is actually still playing the game.

Background shoul either be a pic of the bot/con logos, a large image of Cybertron and we will need a good main image for the game (in case you haven't guessed, I'm not an artist).

Box [1] is a summary of the meta game e.g. "free-to-play browser-based multi-player game where you manage your team of Autobots or Decepticons to defend or capture Cybertron."

Box [2] is an in-game call to arms e.g. "It's a dark time for Cybertron. The great Transformers war between the that has raged for millennia, bleeding the planet and its resources dry. Can you summon up the Courage, Strength and Skill to ally yourself with the heroic Autobots or the conquering Deceptions and retake the planet?"
On second thoughts, that's crap and way to long, but you get the idea. I'll come up with something proper later. Needs to be short and punchy, like Burn.

Box/WarMap [3] is an example map of in-game Cybertron using either the mission locations you posted about or the campaign map, but with a short intro overlaid at the bottom.

Login/Signup box Box can even overlap the map slightly, but the layout should draw the eye top-left to bottom-right the same way as western-language readers scan read.


(I'd also suggest letting some of us update the FAQ and linking it somewhere here as well.)
