Yes.

Splicers can repair anybody even if they are not signed up.

All avoids count as long as your Scout survived the mission.

All other relevant tactic kills count on everyone, signed up or otherwise.

It's all in the first 2 posts. >:oP

Maybe expecting everyone to read what is written for a text-based game is being a little too optimistic, but most of you worked it out. ;)

ROUND UPDATE!!

Contact has been made with the Strike Teams!! wrote:

Repair is basically just force-feeding your allies giant wheels of cheese, Dovahkin.

We have an update from within the Dark Space....kinda, we've recieved a transmission from Grotusque and Sparkstalker. It doesn't make a lot of sense to us, but it's been passed to the codebreaking nerds who think they have are sense of it, see what you can understand below!

Sparkstalker and Grotusque report wrote:

Hello? ... report at last. If you receive this, be aware ... Splicer team has achieved ... quick success.

    Image Grotusque
Second stage is now underway ... Scouts unable to locate ... defensive net preventing success ... high casualties.

Image Sparkstalker
Splicer team to be redepl ... aid Scouts using repair ... no longer require intact return after ... increased search zone ... Assault team pinned down.

    Image Grotusque
... schematics complete ... to pinpoint Shard location ... Primitives not located as yet either ... mission continues ... over and out.

Nope, I have no idea what they're on about either, so we reached out to Senator Bun-Bun's Lab O' Nerds to make sense of it all.
Unfortunately they left that geek Abyssal in charge while the rabbit is away. Once we FINALLY got him to stop updating his SeaQuest fansite and focus he translated it thusly:

They said the Scouts are taking a beating and the heavies are being pinned down but the Splicers have completed their objective and recovered the Bite altmode schematics, meaning they can be redeployed.

As we need the Scouts to locate the Shard and the Primitives, the Splicers have been moved in to support and allow them to complete their task even if they are stasis locked.

This should make the Scouts job far easier!

For the hard of reading:
from Mission #168970 onwards,
your Scout now counts every avoid, even if they don't survive!

Watch out for further updates as they arrive here on WPNN!!

007 would know better how many have already finished (6-ish)
Right now we remain Lost in Dead Space (tm) until such time as Psych isn't being destroyed by RL

***ANNOUNCEMENT***

I talked to Psych and he's given the go ahead for anyone who's already finished the round to reset their characters.

Also officially the round is still going so those that haven't finished yet can continue to make claims.

ITS THAT MOMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!

Image
Wait, some of you actually survived?

Its finally time to come home.

The battle on Cybertron has gone to hell, as has the future of WarPorn Industries itself, but we've temporarily retaken our network to finish what we started - to get these Strike Teams back and stop these inter-dimensional assholes from destroying our profit-making enterprise war.

So sit back for a minute, grab a beverage and we'll take you through the story (as it was meant to be) over a month ago...

Your time in the Dead Space has drawn to a close, and not a moment too soon. Grotusque and Sparkstalker scowl at each other as your battle-weary troop make their way to the rendezvous.

Relief washes over you as you take the final step.

The exit portal slams shut behind you as you are again thrown through the energon-like abyss back towards what you hope to still be your home. The journey now a little more familiar, but this time you are not alone - the broken and battered bodies of ancient creatures are in your care, or custody dependent on your outlook, as well as the stasis-locked bodies of your fallen allies, their chassis barely intact after being torn apart by razor sharp teeth having been separated from you upon landing.

With a final glance over your shoulder, you say a relieved farewell to the horrifying Dead Space dimension and look over at your compatriot, cradling the Shard, knowing that this could be the key to finally defeating the Reavers and ridding Cybertron of this menace for good.

The backlash of your arrival, a party almost twice the size of the one that left carrying numerous items of power, sends a pulsewave throughout the antechamber and the previously dark room suddenly takes on a vivid light, emanating from the Throne of Vir itself as if calling out to the Shard, singing a song that begs to lure it home, but this is not its only effect.

Suddenly, the ground beneath your feet falls away and even those able to fly amongst have to grab a desperate hold of whatever you can find. Enveloped in the furious light of Vir, the world turns to black again as the energy overload hits, rocking all those within into stasis lock yet again.

...

Future analysts will claim that the shock of the situation caused a collective neural collapse, whilst those of other more pious trains of thought will claim that Primus himself intervened to keep you all alive, but his presence is so magnificent that your minuscule minds were unable to comprehend, but it is many hours before you awaken from your Cryo-regeneration chambers. Exhausted, war-weary and confused, but alive, you contact your commanders, your team members, anyone you can think of for an update, which comes as you drift in and out of consciousness.

...

An update, near unintelligible, flashes within the parts of you that still recognise consciousness.

...partial success...
...schematics uploaded, bite cured...
    ...primitives barely survived...
...the rift widened...
...Shockwave's error...
...near the Throne...
    ...Swarm of Brood...
...worst nightmare...
...defences failed...
...darkest hour...

...in their thousands...

...Iacon has fallen...

...unstoppable.

...yes,but what of the Shard?

...unknown.

You awake in your safe-houses, reunited with your team and faction and a grim chill grips your spine as you process this intel.
But it also steels your resolve; you have entered the darkness itself and survived, but they followed you back here.

Now it is time to put what you learned there to the test.
There is only one path left before you.
Return to the Throne Room, find that Shard, and drive these mind-stealing demon-slaggers back into the hell they came from...

To be concluded...

And that was it.
Hope you enjoyed it at the start at least - it was meant to be tough, with each completed team making it easier for the next, but circumstances prevented me from completing and posting those updates (and then from posting at all.)
Those of you who persevered truly are the heroes of the HMW, thank you.

I'll jump straight to the rewards for Round 4 now:

For the Strike Teams
Any alt modes lost from reformatting for battle will be returned as long as it was previously discussed with me.

As the first commander to complete, Bun Bun, will gain a 100% unique altmode, of any class he wishes*.
Also, everyone other commander who completed their tasks will be allowed to chose a single (existing) altmode to be added into their team if they wish, even if it is not on their factions list.

For the Factions
The Bite schematics captured by the returning Strike Teams have now been uploaded by the Senate, and the process of upgrading the single-tactic beast-era altmodes out there can finally begin.

This will take time, and as they had the most completed commanders the Autobots who took part, if they wish, can step forwards and request which single-tactic beast alt classes they would like to see upgraded to have Bite first.

Please note:
1) Not all the single-alt beast modes are planned to have bite, although many will. You will be advised if they don't (and of why) if you request them.
2) The Predator and Sea Monster alt classes are already dual tactic, but they will both be transitioned over to have Bite instead of Ram. A separate update will be made to explain how this will work.

* Custom altmode prize must be in theme with the Transformers and/or HMW, and is subject to both Staff approval (e.g. don't take the piss) and Phasewing being able/having the time to create an alt image she is happy with.

Again, let me apologise for the delay in getting this round ended. I've been without internet (and a home, technically) for far longer than I had expected and as much as I love you guys, my priorities had to be elsewhere.

There is a solid plan for a round 5 still, but there will have to be a little bit of a delay, expect it around June/July time.

Thanks and best wishes for quickly settling in and resolving everything.

How does the alt choice work? Do we have to reset the character? Reinstall armor after?

Personal stuff always comes first, glad you're back though and resettled.

Is there a particular reason for the change to Predator?

Also, i'd like to see Fast Land Animal get a 2nd tactic.

Killjoy wrote:How does the alt choice work? Do we have to reset the character? Reinstall armor after?
Pick any alt you want, from any faction, and list it below along with the character you want it applied to and I'll sort each case out individually.

It will almost certainly involve a reset but (once tested to ensure it works) I'll hoprfully be able to refund the € cost of replacing any armour as well.

It will however be a one-off replacement (apart from Bun's prize) so you'll have it until it's reset.

Flavour. A lion should be tearing it's opponent's limbs off with its teeth, not ramming it into submission.

Raphael Prime wrote:Also, i'd like to see Fast Land Animal get a 2nd tactic.

Just a heads up Raph, this is one of those that isn't getting bite, the second tactic on this one will be Ram.

Other suggestions 'bots have passed to me is Mega Land Animal and Small Land Animal, which both do get Bite.

There are plenty more to chose from, but these 3 will be going in first.

EDIT: Fast and Small have been updated. Mega needs a bit more research before I can unleash a Ram/Bite alt into the wild, as that's basically just creating a double-ram.

Not a problem, but it will involve a reset.
I'll sort it all out with you early next week via PM, just play on as normal until then.
