Level exp cap vs upgrades

I just found an alt which breaks the exp level minimum cap. By upgrades, drone 11 should be high end L2 but due to the exp cap, it is technically L3.

I always thought the battleship class was expensive to build.

Level cap only kicks in when you reset.

My argument is that if you look at the character profiles, it says L3 for their levels even though it is clear neither have the stats to be L3. The battleship is at 22 points while the light repair vehicle is at 19. Both point totals would put them at high end L2.

So it means their XP has hit the level cap for 3. Your reset activated the cap so they are now level 3 regardless of how many upgrades you give them.

You'll have that issue with any Alt mode.
Once you reach the cap, even with 0 upgrades, you will be forced into that level

level 0: 0 - 39,999 XP
level 1: 40,000 - 349,999 XP
level 2: 350,000 - 749,999 XP
level 3: 750,000 - 1,999,999 XP
level 4: 2,000,000 - 4,499,999 XP
level 5: 4,500,000 - 9,999,999 XP
level 6: 10,000,000 - 24,999,999 XP
level 7: 25,000,000 - ??? XP

As far as I know these cannot be changed except at the programmer level.

Fixed it for you, level 7 and up doesn't have a cap.

in my opinion all levels should be xp based, the fact that level has an exponential effect on xp makes it really annoying when people play down levels.

I think most are in agreement there. The issue was always that the xp required varies massively depending on build style so the caps ended at 7.

I'd prefer to see a no-return function for the top levels where once you level up you're stuck there and can't level down again, but it would also need a 'level up' warning to prevent accidents.

I made this some time ago before Psych started adding more tactics but it's probably still fairly accurate...

All XP costs in thousands

It kind of looks like the caps were designed to roughly (ok VERY-roughly-to-not-really toward the end) follow the most expensive Actionmaster build for each level
