i don't want this to become a flame war or a whine session about why or why we shouldn't be subjected to a reset for the new game, but i'd be curious as to what people would be satisfied with if the reset were to happen.

it seems that most people that are against the reset see that transfering the names of HMW 1.x as not enough to satisfy them, so what would? it has been state that XP can't be transfered because an XP in HMW 2.0 won't mean the same thing, but how about 1 XP for every 10 or 100xp? or how about people being about to keep their energon in not the XP too? or get enough XP to get to the same level they were before? what is your minimum? (please be civil).

Heck, they can take all my names, XP, and Energon for a chance to use alts from the other side for the first few weeks. Damit, I'm a Decepticon who wants to use the Fort Max alt!

Minimum? Names and Altmodes. I really don't want to part with Cruellock's pretty dragon alt now that he finally has it, nor do I want to risk losing his name.

Bios are properly saved and such... >_> Just in case.

but what is exactly yours? Is it the name or is it the personality of the character? The names will stay around, already been confirmed by Programmer God person. If its EXP thou desires, eh probably not going to happen. Knowing the staffers we'll look at getting something as a blanket base, either more than 2k energon or a base exp. But nothing beyond the name deal is for sure.

And yes Burn I am going to be carried over, in pieces maybe or perhaps kicking and screaming but I'll be around.

Well, everything but the AS part, since I really have nothing against him... But yeah, other than that Burn took the words right out of my mouth.

Some exp is better than none, even though I'd rather have all my points...

Let's see... Names, alt-modes, bios... yep.

Shame about losing xp. I was looking forward to finally breaking into the higher levels this year.

All I'm really concerned about carrying over is character names. Bios...unless one lacks a text/Word program on their computer, we can all save those easily on our own. Alts...if the automatic rotator is running, any alt should come up eventually.

If the names don't carry over, I'll just finish the unposted fic where all of my Destrons die and then create Wrath Squadron.

i like the idea of a fresh start b/c everyone whether they just started or have been here a while can compete against each other starting new rivalries and allies. I would like to keep names and possibly alts but if not i'll settle for names for sure!

And after a year when new people start playing should everyone reset to accommodate them as well?

Come now Burn. You know that we get new players every day. We have to be accommodating to them too.

One of the most rediculously retarded things that somebody actually tried to threaten me with:

"I hope there is a reset just to spite you. Because on a level playing field, I can take you."

Duh. On a level playing field I can take Burn. It's a level playing field. A boring level playing field.

What would be the point in bragging that I beat Burn? There's no challenge to it.

There's going to be a new XP scale that is different from the one we are using now. Here is how you make the change:

V1.9 = X
V2 = Y

Find the Max value of X and the Max value of Y. Max value being the highest amount of XP needed to have all 10s.

Figure the percentage difference between Max X and Max Y which will be Z.

Reduce everyones current V1.9 XP by Z and you will have their equivilent V2 XP.

Behold the Power of Z.

And all of our rivalries and the community can continue as normal. If the whole game doesn't burn down around us.

strangely, despite the first thoughts that came to my mind (which was that i wanted some sort of XP carry-over, even if it was unequal), the minimum for myself is actually: nothing. if my bots names were robbed, i can make new ones. the bio's are in my head, safe and sound. if i lost everything, i'd probably still play v2.0. BUT i am having trouble figuring out why i should continue to play now. if Glyph would've said: for sure, there is going to be a reset of all XP and Energon. i probably would stop playing and just wait for v2.0. that 5% is what's keeping me going. funny when you ask a question and learn something about yourself.

So...I don't look around the HMW topics too much, but I'm fairly active in game...has Glyph hinted as to when V2 will be here at all?

Vitatech, as someone who's had one of his characters "stolen" and used without my permission (including references to my bio) it's not a nice thing to happen to your characters.

Yeah, the character in question I didn't particulary care about (I did actually kill him off ... meaning he was NEVER meant to be seen again but that didn't stop the thief from re-writing the history of a character I created) but it's still not nice to spend time creating a character only to have it stolen and twisted by someone else.

And that's what a lot of people are afraid of happening come the reset.

If I wake up one day and all or most of my XP is gone, then so am I. It will be an insult to the last three and a half years I've spent playing the game.

My minimum - Name, Bios, and alt-modes/alt mode availability (i.e., I don't want to keep Parting Shot only to find out I can't transform him into a weapon anymore).

I'm with the "all or nothing's". I've put in a major time commitment in the last two years. I'd be devastated if I lost all my XP. I would at least like to see enough XP after a reset to have all my characters at the same levels as before. If I lost my names, though, there's no way I'd ever play again.

Well I would love to keep all of my XP but since that probably won't happen I can live with it as long as the next version is fun to play.I would like to keep the names of most of my team but I might end up killing some of them off when we switch over anyway.I would also like to keep my alts or atleast have the ability to pick from all of them when we first start the next version.
