from the Movie's debut and still nothing regarding V2.

So, is the latest forum blitz because V2 has been held up again? Because if we weren't worrying about subfactions, clans, speculated powertrips, ownership and the like, I'm sure we'd be rolling out to V2. Don't get me wrong--I love Minicons, Robot Modes, and NPC missions. But V2 was supposedly on the horizon, and now it's take a backseat to this clan drama nonsense.

So what's the deal? Does 2007 mark the launch or will 2008 be a more accurate and still speculative launch date?

Word.

I think the sub-faction drama goes hand in hand with the launching of V2.0. Its just getting everything set up to make sure things are set up as much as possible before it comes out. I figured it would have at least been released in the September time frame from what I heard earlier. So it doesn't suprise me really that it isn't out yet. I'm sure OS and the staff are making sure everything is just right before releasing it. I'm sure they don't want a game full of bugs and glitches and loopholes. I would prefer they get it right before letting it go.

I see your point, but it appears that with the Sub-Fax has taken over the entireity of the forum. I'm not a Sub-Fax member, and I'm being punished because of this. It's not my fault that particular individuals chose to "exploit" the system (purely speculation of course), so why am I punished for it?

Seems like we're wasting too much time chasing after a flare-up (that I don't recall ever happening) when we should be moving towards the betterment and future of the game?

I just want to play the game. The V2 game.

I wouldnt waste you breath. If we have learnt one thing from this whole debarcle, OS dosnt listen.

I will agree that it is on most peoples minds right now, including mine. I am sure that this sort of thing was calculated into part of the release process, maybe not to the extent it have become. While it may look like a huge hurdle to overcome, I think it will only be a minor bump in the road to the overall big picture and release of V2.0

Just so you know I will be have a conversation with OS and maybe Mkall and try and find a comprimise with this situation. I figure it will not be a long drawn out process since OS and the rest of HMW awaits the release of v2.0. I do not want to delay that. Once a comprimise is reached, then I'm sure the ball will get rolling faster.

I don't think that the sub-faction drama has stopped the progress of the release.

In the locked 11 page thread, I wrote:Surely you should focus on completing V2 before saying what can't be done in it :-?

Perhaps if OS had replied to one, any, of the comments made in that thread, my question would have been answered. But as Red says, don't hold your breath.

The primary hold up, AFAIK, was that OS got "side-tracked" by a high paying gig. Realistically, he had to do the 'responsible' thing and put paying off his bills/college loans/etc. above prgramming the game, though I get the impression this is by far what he would rather be doing.

Once he came back, he laid out a pretty ambitious time-table for getting this v2 rolled out - so ambitious, that even if he misses his mark by a lot you'd still be looking at a 2007 release. The first thing on the itinerary was the robot-modes, and those got done on schedule, so, so far so good.

As far as the drama goes I don't think it has really cut into his programming time that much. Obviously there is stuff going on with setting up the faction forums, but those are intimately tied into the release of v2. The only major setback would come from the fact that Tammuz has, at least for the time being, bowed out. Fortunately, he'd left us in pretty good shape as far as notes and stuff, so I think OS will still be able to finish the weapons-balancing, though that might be like an extra week there.

That's the best I can give you - nothing is absolute obviously. OS could try running some v2 script tomorrow and crash the game for a week, you just never know.

If you wouldn't throw such a fit over it, then maybe OS would feel inclined to aswer youor questions in a more timely manner. OS is a busy man and has other things to do and other stresses besides getting HMW v2.0 for us. Give him some time and be patient. He never said when for sure it was going to be released. And if you think I am not bothered by the decision to ban the sub-factions, you are wrong. I probably have put the most effort into them. Yet I am being patient and get a full understanding on the reasonings and possibly work to a comprimise.

Noting that 11 pages of questions and valid criticisms were trivialised as "venting" - regardless of tone and phrasing - and thus completely ignored is not what I call throwing a fit. I didn't comment on your stance on this issue either, and quite frankly if you think that I expect a subfaction leader not to be "bothered", then you have me very wrong in the first place.
I realise he's a busy man. That's why I would have expected him to prioritize what time he has and not waste all these extra days tbh. None of this changes the fact that we were told to expect a summer release date though, does it?[/i]

See, that's exactly what I was looking for. The reason behind that is this: Let's jump into the time rewinder and, remember as I've stated, travel back roughly 3 months ago. Heck we could even go back 4 months. The speculation was that for celebration of the Live Action movie, we'd also be kicking off V2 of H-M-W. Now, return with me to the here and now. All I've been hearing for the past couple of days has been Sub-Fax drama. And neither hide nor hair about V2. So, one would presume that the Sub-Fax conundrum has sidetracked and/or even derailed the progress of V2. But if that's not the case....

However, if that is the case then that's not good. For Sub-Fax players and non Sub-Fax players. It's not good for the game a whole. Having these frequent flare-ups derailing the game is never good.

And I have to say that I applaud OS for taking a paying gig. By goodness, I'd love to be able to stop my day job and actually get paid for what I love to do. Pay bills with it, etc. etc. (Please note that I am NOT claiming that H-M-Dub programmer is OS' day job.) I'm glad to know that that was the case.

Now, here's hoping that we can get some decent updates in regards to this as opposed to having to take disciplinary action on offenses that have yet to be committed. And if you need some help with something, let me know. I'd love to try and help--granted I don't know it all, but I can help to the best of my abilities. All you need to do is ASK.

Word.

Theres a law about games. The more wanted the game the more delays it gets for its launch. Despite the drama recently we are getting updates so its getting there, although I got this weird image of us getting more updates and by the time V2 does officially launch it be like only one or two new features with the reset since everything else came out already. :P

The law about games is that if you release on release date you get a sub-par product. You have to make sure it is at least semi-playable. Games that require a gazillion patches are quickly forgotten.

As to one or two new features...expect big things. You always save the money shot for last, and given what we've seen so far... I've been frothing at the mouth for whatever he's saving for the launch.

It will be worth the wait! 8)

I'm really liking all the changes I've read about/actually been made so far. I'm really really eager to actually play V2 and hope it gets here soon!
