In order to use tactics do I need to train my robot abilities first, or do I only need to train the stat that goes along with that ability?

Hi there, welcome to the game :grin:

To use tactics you only need to invest XP into the tactic itself. Upgrading stats and robot abilities will improve the overall performance of the tactic.
