Retreat in missions?

I've been playing on and off for a long time now, but I've never seen this happen before. I feela little cheated, I deserve a stasis lock bonus!
Has this happened to anyone before?

Been a while, but yeah, I've seen it before. Strangely, I've only seen the Autobots retreat; I've never seen or been in a mission where the Decepticons are the ones who've backed down. :-?

One time I was in a tag team mission, and it was 2 v 1. I'd killed one of the bots, but in the process had been taken down to 1% health. The other bot was on somthing like 60%.

He ran away...

lol

i believe it's more likely to happen at lower levels due to the low stats of the bots (there's some kind of determiner, that ends missions early). At which point, the mission is decided by whoever's inflicted the most damage I believe, hence Redimus' mission, where he won having inflicted 140% vs his oponents' 99%.

I beleive the main constraint is time, if the mission takes too long you're more likly for it to happen. I know my guy avoided his ass off, cant remember about the others.

I think (and so I could be very wrong about this) that it is something like 5 or 10 minutes with no damage being inflicted.

I'm fairly certain the 10-minute limit applies only to arena bouts. I would think the limit on missions is at least 20min, since they start at the 20min mark in the total countdown.

The 20 minute gap between mission closing and mission finishing is server processing time and is not connected to the time in the mission logs.

Well it only took 2 minutes for someone to inflict damage, and the Bot ran away right after I inflicted 50% in one strike.... ¬_¬

I had this happen to me too. I just assumed it was a timeout thing on the arena cos it was two avoiders dodging each other. Thoroughly exciting battle that.... ;)

HMW isn't like the cartoon then. 'Rretreat' was Megatron's favourite word :P

Doesn't retreat simply mean both sides were too incompetent to beat the other team? That's the way it feels to me anyways...

For those who weren't around when...

IIRC the "retreat" function was brought back as a time-cap because of certain problematic configurations being sent up against eachother in missions - imagine a battle where all the bots and cons in the mission have nothing but Endurance, Intelligence, and Repair. The missions could potentially become infinite in length, crashing the server when it couldn't decide what to do within the 20 minutes it had to spit out the results.

"Retreat" obviously fixed this problem. Don't know what the exact "time" limit is though, or how the computer determines the victor.
