I've checked all the help sections and I can't find anything on there.
How do you get a robot form?! It would appear that my Decepticon is stuck as a bulldozer

Does it not appear as an option when you go to upgrade the Transformer?

That could well be why. I always assumed that Transformers had a robot form first.....

On the character's profile page is a link that says "Upgrade" (it's at the top). Click on this. If there isn't an option to select a robot mode on there, then click on the "reset" option, and it should allow you to pick a robot mode as well as an alt mode.
Note: Until you upgrade the Robot Mode Abilities (which start at 3,000xp) then your choice of robot mode is purely a visual thing.

Is there a post describing what the various robot mode stats, etc are? I can't find any info....

Off memory (so could be wrong/incomplete)
Protoform - No ability
Computational - Courage and Intelligence
Recon - Speed
Melee - Strength
Bulk - Endurance
Assault - Firepower

Recon is speed and skill
Mellee is Str for damage and tactic only
Bulk is armor and endurance
Though the firepower and skill boost do not help with equiping weapons and Int doesn't unlock tactics. You have to have the real stat for those.

Where was the last place you put it? Did you leave it in the kitchen? Did you check underneath the cushions in the couch?

OK, this is bizarre. I can't click upgrade. It just isn't a link.

It is not selectable if your bot is fighting or in the CR chamber.

That much was obvious. Even when the little Constricticon wasn't on a mission or in the CR, it wouldn't work. I'll wait for him to finish repairing, then I'll try it again.

It's disabled when the character is
a) in a mission
b) in the CR chamber
c) installing armour.
If any of these apply, wait until it's finished then try again. If not, we have a glitch/bug report thread stickied at the top of the forum.

Do you have the necessary xp?
The robot mode link is bugged, it will always display "upgrade" regardless of whether you have the xp for it or not.

How do I acquire weapons for my characters? When everyone is thwacking them with swords and laser rifles, mine have pathetic punches and kicks, and a refusal to transform to escape...

Just click the "Buy/Sell Weapons" tab on the left panel.
But most of the weapons are already purchased, and you can't transform to escape.

Punches and kicks are improved by upgrading STR(strength), they really can be quite deadly with alot of strength, almost equalling the very best weapons for damage.
transforming is goverend by the upgrades in tactics each point in a tactic gives you a small chance of transforming and performing that tactic. no upgrades in tactics = no chance of transforming.
have you reead
this sticky yet it has some good points

When I said escape, I meant evade. The number of times I've tried to punch someone and they've turned into a cassette player to dodge it are too frequent.... Just like in that episode when Ratchet tried to grab Rumble and he kept transforming in and out of his alt. modes....

What is the point of a robot mode increasing your skill, if skills only purpose is the equipping of weapons (which happens outside of battle)?

Because the robot modes are a preparation for v2, and Skill will do more in v2.

i think/hope it was more to do with just testing rather than a finalised thing, otherwise V2 is going to be as balanced as a drunken sumo in 17 inch stilettos.
