We can eliminate the Upgrade Page

Maybe I'll be shot. But I don't think so cuz I have blackmail photos of Mkall that will be released on the Internet if my associates don't hear from me within the next 24 hours.
Anyway, I think we can fit all the info on the Upgrade page onto the Profile page of our TFs. All contained in the Tech Specs box:
Eliminate the faction symbol to make more room (the insignia can go a million other places).
Make the amount of experience the upgrade link if the TF has enough experience.
Move Tactics above alt mode and give it the same room as the Tech Specs do.
This would do two things: Eliminate one click and make it so we can see, when the Upgrade page isn't available (during mission times, CR times, and armour upgrade times) how much experience is needed to upgrade each rank.

I like it.
It streamlines things.
It's simple.
It makes sense.
It will probably never happen.

Ive had an idea for the actual process of ugrading your stats. May as well put it here rather than start a whole new thread.
Instead of the current (and rather slow) system of upgrading every stat, one at a time, why not have something similar to the xp calculator. That way the player can quickly muck about with their stats upto the xp they currently have, then when they are happy, they can click something like 'Set Stats', and 'bam!', you have a set up on your tf.
I for one am sick of getting to the second to last stat, then adding one too many or the next stat along, and having to do it ALLLLLLL over again...

And the number of times that idea has been tossed around ... and you know what? There's never been a definitive answer on it.

I'm pretty sure I've said that's the direction I want to go in. The main problem is Javascript - specifically, making sure the same page does exactly what it's supposed to on all the different versions of IE, Firefox, Opera and whatever other browser a player happens to be using. That's something which takes time to nail, so for now I've left a system which mostly works alone in favour of fixing things that don't.

couldn't you leave the old upgrade page functional, while still moving it's functions to character page(so we'd have to ways of upgrading) until the character page java script is hunky-dory

It'd be a bit messy from the ned user point of veiw.

How about having it so that you can type in a numerical value for the stat. For example, if you are reconfiguring your Lvl 6 with new armor, and do a reset, its cumbersome to click-click-click your way back up to 8 for this 9 for that. I know this probably makes the programming a little more complicated, but just a thought.
I agree partially with Tammuz

Yeah, but lets say level 6 or 9, or 4 for that matter would take huge amount of energon as well as time to refurbish back the armor. So instead of take it off, and then bying it back again, just leave it in the teams inventory, instead of taking it completelly away.

I'd hate to un-derail this thread, but did anyone other than Lucky and VP like or dislike my idea? Sorry, Redimus, but I'd like to veer the discussion back to it.

My feelings are rather mixed on your proposal, Me, Grimlock!. It sort of looks good, but ATST I like seeing the upgrades without as much distraction coming from the rest of the webpage.

I play this game 'under the influence' on the odd occasion.
So other than the frightening risk of accidentally clicking on 'upgrade' whilst pissed, its not a bad idea at all.

You know what, Red? I shoulda just let your conversation run. It was obviously more interesting than mine, as yours got more talk going. Sorry about that.
Shoulda shut my mouth about it. heheh. Carry on about it, then, if anyone has more to say.
