Armor Question

So I finally added a Rank point to one of my Cons and discovered that there are more than Aluminum and Iron Armor. Ah, poor naive me, how was I to know that Steel and Ceramic were only an upgrade away?

In all seriousness though, is Ceramic a worthwhile armor? I would expect it to be prone to cracking or shattering.
What other armor types are there? What's good? What's useless?

we do have the help section that lists a fair chunk of stuff including the armour typesarmour types, their costs and install timesit's in the side bar

as to decent ones, no one really has a clue, and it's nigh on impossible to work out without knowing the thing you're trying to work out, but i reckon the longer it takes to install the better.

Just a thought a lv0 I had 1 ton of iron when i moved to lv 1 this seemed to do nothing. Probaley had to do with the fact a 16k con woun't fair to well against 80k bot. I suppose armour probably has way more variable to consider then any thing else.

1 tonne of any armour isn't really very noticible unless you keep alot of very accurate logs detailing all of the attacks done to it and compare it with an equally massive and detailed database of logs against no armour TFs.

You are quite accurate. I'm noticeing somethingS complement each other I'm just guessing but wouldn't say skill 0< + str1< + end0< divided by opponents end + spd + avoid be kinda the fourmula for armour effectiveness. I'm probably wrong feel free to tell me I am.

Ceramic is a category of materials like metal. They vary greatly in certain qualities and while most are brittle some are Very hard...and most are energy (heat, electricty ect) resistant. Most reentry vehicles have a ceramic outer shell for that last reason.. some types of ceramic can take ALOT of heat.

The figurines made of the light brittle material called ceramic are made from one type of cheap ceramic material. Most ceramics are very different from that.

Years ago, it was said that armor beyond aluminum and iron did nothing. I think they fixed that, but who knows how armor works now?

I beleive the PTB want us to 'work that out'...

Of course with NO information to work it out with, and it being almost completly impossible to quantify from missions, this is a bit like someone trying to prove that Im more atractive than Tam without a photo of either of us (of course as it happens I am :P).

I'd rather do Tam. And your beard's a bit dogy.
But if we've got brawling and weapons figured out, I think it shouldn't be too hard to guage an estimate on armour if we have enough volunteers.

I'd rather have a go at Tam as well.

If you have Brawling figured out I'd love to know, my current efforts to figure out the secrets of HMW is doing nothing but causing the remainder of my hair to fall out. :?

Ah, every faction has someone trying to figure out (or already figured out, in Tam's case) this kind of stuff (well, maybe not the Autobots :P ). I did the weapons recharges and started trying to figure out how damage was worked out, but I suspect the formulas are well beyond someone who hasn't done higher math since high school.

I have an a level in maths, dunno what the yank equivalent is, but its not really the point most of it comes from having an awesome memory for tidbits glyph said and piecing things together. But armour needs you to know alot of factors to do, and os keeps tweaking brawling. Oh and having excel helps.

Me too, but I only got a C. Still, statistics and algebra were my strong points so I should be fine helping with this (so long as it doesn't somehow bring trigonometry into it).

I'm taking trig now. Lord I hate it!
Anyway, should I or shouldn't I invest the time and 'gon in armor?

I have no idea. I prefer to just give everyone a bit of endurance.

basically slap the longest install time armour on, while upping your rank as little as possible
