So, the 29th is here which i assume to mean that its now time to begin rotating the Alts properly.

Here you should be able to see the available alts

Any one want to hazard a guess as to whats going to be swapped in?

Considering it's completely random and will probably make the RNG look predictable.

No.

That thought frightens me, something making the RNG look predictable.... Oh well, time for the olive oil! :P

RNG is VERY predictable, everytime im a few kxp from the next upgrade, RNG will suddenly do everything in it's power to assure I never get the few remaing kxp.

Redimus, that's not it being predictable....

That just the fact that it doesn't like you.

Play the game long enough and you'll realise how much in addition to that it gets predictable.

And yes, it does do that, deny you that last bit of xp. :-x

Point conceded.

Surely that's just Murphy's Law? :P

Anyhow, I will do my best to start the rotator tonight. Under normal circumstances it would run at 0100 CST on the Monday of every week, but I chose not to enable it yet as I have a smallish amount work still to do on the classifications of the older alts. Unsurprisingly, the forum crash on Thursday and the fallout / cleanup from that has been top priority over the last few days.

I'll start it manually as soon as I'm ready to do so.

Sounds cool.

Can we expect to see the same numbers of each type, and will the comon/rare ones be labelled as such?

They'll be labelled as Core/Common/Rare. No idea how many you'll get of each type except by the law of averages!

So then, that happens to more people than just me!

Thanks for the info Glyph! :-P

I shall be smote down and cast out for this transgression, but alas, I must follow the whims of my heart...

Gotta catch 'em all! PokeAlts! :P

since we got this new alt system going on, with the rares/commons/uncommons. how about instead of picking one alt at tf creation we are given the option to buy any alts we want from our factions existing alt list. and once we buy them we never lose them. and at any point we can use these alts anytime we want. but only one tf on our teams may have any alt at a time, that way no one can have 12 bumblebees on their team at one time. confused? hope not. this is just an idea i had, that way we have something else to spend energon on. and also will allow us to keep alts after they are discontinued, but would allow us to reset a tf without losing said discontiuned alt. rare could be the most expensive, uncommons next and commons cheapest. good idea? I hope so, I felt like it was a good one.

Its a good idea, but I see no reason why the entire team couldnt habe the same alt if they were willing to pay for it and had the funds.

Like the puchasing alts idea though, always have, always will. thankyouverymuch...

BTW, Glyph, your current system is flawed.
If you reset currently it offers you all the alts on the list, but any of the 'new' ones you click on it makes a big red box saying NO! but sends you back to the same page. I had to guess which ones were legal.
pretty easy to figure it out, but it dont say on them which ones are allowed and which are not and resetting is a pain in the arse as it is without playing alt bingo.

Update or dont, just dont leave them hanging there man, thats just plain mean! :P

Yeah, part of the auto-rotator script is to remove expired icons from the list. It would probably have helped if I'd remembered to add a check on the expiry date when displaying them on the altmodes page and upgrade list, for those alts which expire between runs.

The RID Magnus is a "Core" alt; it's not new AFAIK.

The VW however is currenly listed as "rare", but it doesn't have the red date under it like the other noncore alts. Curious. :-?

If the new alt rotation is in effect how come I'm still only seeing the alts that were supposed to expire yesterday?
