No Programmer, No V2....now what?

So with no programmer to clean up the unruly mess that the great and gracious OS has left the code, and V2 never seeing the light of Seibertronian day, now what?
Where does the game go? What direction does it take? I've seen some elements of change--Caelus working on the weapons, Red and crew continuing the Tournie aspects of things, and Mkall here and there with informational tidbits. But realistically, what happens? Ryan can't code the game, so where does that leave us, the players?
Looks pretty bleak if you ask me.
Word.

tbh, I think things will just keep going in its own little circle.
For a while at least, I think hmw will remain as we see it right now.
Until someone else becomes programmer. Then we can watch things go pearshaped again

Things aren't bad the way they are right now. But as far as getting HMW v2.0 out, thing are going to be at a standstill right now and probably will be for a while.
We will survive though. We have pull through these things before. Until the game is officially taken down, there is always some hope that it will come out. Until then, keep playing.

It leaves us with a game that while limited and sometimes glitchy still manages to provide heaps of enjoyment, the same as it's done for over 4 and a half years.
Looks pretty bleak if you ask me.
EVERYTHING HMW looks bleak to you QS. Seriously, the only time you seem to come around these days is to whine and be negative.
Maybe if you just immersed yourself in the community and saw what's on offer you might enjoy things more.
Stopped by the 'Con forum lately? Maybe if you did you'd see all the mini-tournaments and contests that are running.
Whatever your problem is QS it's time you got over it. Try enjoying the game, regardless of what it's state is, like the rest of us.

The game is whatever you make of it QS.
The game is relatively stable right now, so its down to us to find ways of entertaining ourselves until it next advances.
If you just sit back and watch its going to get pretty boring.

No v2 for a while. At least we didn't know anything that was going into it, or else we'd be really disappointed.
Okay, that was a lie. We knew a buncha stuff. I still refuse to be disappointed. What with the game running 100% of the time and free 100% of the time, that's enough upgrade for me.
Now where's Duke Nukem 4?

I'm happy the game is up and running. So we don't get big changes just yet. I can live with that.

Same here! Hell, after the last crash, I would have been happy if it was running one day in eight!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy Burn. I'm sure that it seemed pretty negative, but please believe me the context wasn't supposed to be that way. I was referring strictly to the code/programmer situation. I wanted to know if anyone knew what was going on with that. And with V2. And frankly, I didn't say anything that anyone else hasn't already thought. The prospect of a new programmer is pretty bleak. The chance of seeing V2 anytime soon--bleak.
Wow! With reactions like yours, is it any wonder why I don't come back and "kick it old school" on these forums? Unless, this was all a clever ruse to rile me up and get back, but why? Sheesh, you take yourself way too seriously sometimes.
I cannot get onto the Darkmount Forum for some reason. Don't know why, but I'm unable to go there.
I've also got a new job that doesn't allow me to sit online and play H-M-Dub all damn day. So if I'm not here as often as I used to be, so be it. Any player has the right to try and get some answers in regards to the status of the game, right?
Word.

HMW V2 is like a mythical creature, you hear stories about it, but there is no real proof it ever existed.
Would it be nice if it did? Yes
Are we ever really going to see it? Not likely, and really does it matter?
As long as HMW is up and running in some form...

We have a game that works reliably and is a clear improvement over the original which was already fun and addicting.
War maps, triple-changers, minicons, gestalts, etc. would be great, but so would world peace and Grimlock in TF2.
I think we've probably reached a point at which everyone needs to settle in and learn to love what we have and make the most of it. Unfortunately, that's something only the players can do.

It's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you've got.

Is the game still in need of a programmer? I see lots of threads with ideas that people want to see and bugs that need fixing but no plans to implement any of it.
I find myself with an excess of free time and very little to do.
I have a decent amount of programming experience and even though I am fairly new to PHP, I am a fast learner. I feel there is a lot more I could do for this game than take up space on the score list.

Mkall is doing what he can you might want to ask him if he would want your help with anything.

Bravo, Tekka, for coming forward. Perhaps two heads would be better than one on this now?
