sorry if this has been brought up before but- does anyone actually read other peoples character bios?
i used to just have character names/alt modes but i spent a rather enjoyable morning at work creating mottos/roles/character flaws in all my bots, just wondered if anyone else spends time on this aspect of hmw?
again, im sorry if this has already been brought up!

I do, but then I like to read stuff, I think it depends on your viewpoint cause some people don't bother writing them as they feel they don't need to do so to enjoy the game, but others like to have a background for their minions.

Hopefully that made sense

I read my teammate's bios when I have the time and my foes if it can keep me interested.

As far as my own teams bios I thought about them but never bothered until recently. I had 2 of my troops surpass the 1,000 kill mark so I felt like they earned it. So now I decided that I will write up bios for all my TF's but only after they've earned it. :P

i read them, and occaisionally reference them if i feel a character has had a significant impanct on my character's lives.

most of them start of as being fairly 2D, but after a few years of bumping them off other peoples creations then can develop quite an amount of depth.

I read mottos just as much as I click to view a character's bio. Which I usually do if it's a commander I know well, and I've read most of the other Preds' mottos. As for bios, I see veteran players with beautiful thousand word bios, but I usually don't read them. The only exception ever I think was the bio of Satanstorm (interesting!). I might write a bio about a paragraph long just to give the character a sense of meaning to myself. Developing personalities for each of your bots is crucial if you're going to really enjoy the to the fullest, and it helps if you right them down. Unfortunately, I switch my guys often enough that I don't have anyone I've come to adore. That's something I'm counting on the new alts for. My new characters have been set up on paper for months now, and as soon as I get my new alt modes I'm redoing everything with hopefully good mottos, bios, etc. That should renew my interest in the game by a lot.

So yeah, bios are a good way to fall in love with your won characters. I myself am not into reading them as much as the mottos, but they're a great part of the game.

reading mottos and bios are a huge part of the game for me. its always nice to read something interesting, and see what others imagine to be the ideal bot. i particularly love the bios with a humorous edge to them.

I use to, but I haven't recently.

It was more back in the days of encountering new and different people in missions i'd read them and "get to know" the character I was wailing on constantly.

And as i've said many times, the stand out bios have always been the original Ineptibots. It doesn't matter how many times I read them they always gave me a chuckle.

Thanks for the plug again. And, hey-hey. The originals are back... right down to the last narcoleptic.

Anyway, I read some of the bios. You usually get the same old ones, but when something is different, it's tres cool.

I like writing bios so much, I'd be happy to have NPC slots on my team, just so I could post more of em.

Although, of the bios I've written, including the ones for myself, I favor the ones I did for Methusalen.

Anyway, it's nice to think that other people would read them, but even if I knew no one did, I'd still write them.

my team is all canon, but i did write a team story and member add ons to give them a team story line, but i have not added most of it-99%- dew to i am a :BOT: with 12 :CON: canons, would not seem right to add it in yet until i get them in there home faction, and i was leaving it open so if i get another slot i could add my namesake in story wise . but they seem odd anyway fling RDD tags being a Autobot anyways, always was a black sheep in life, why not in HMW as well i guess.

but i must say i like the odd backgrounds of my canons, which will make for some added TF humor when i get them really working with each others issues.

His signature's at the bottom of his posts, but I'm afraid the soul makes him ineligible.

Aha! Added weaknesses to my characters. Check them out in the link in my signature! No, they're not all about being total idiots. Close, but not quite.
